The 1983-2018 Puʻuʻōʻō eruption, on the East Rift Zone of Kīlauea volcano, consisted of many different episodes and several phases of lava flows threatening residential areas (Heliker and Mattox 2003; Orr and others 2015). One of these crises occurred in 2014-2015, when lava erupting from Puʻuʻōʻō advanced north of the rift zone, towards the town of Pāhoa (Poland and others 2016; Brantley and others 2019). This slow-moving crisis unfolded over approximately four months, as pāhoehoe lava gradually flowed towards the town. Ground-based discrete snowpack measurements were collected during winter field campaigns starting in 2020. These data were collected as part of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Next Generation Water Observing System (NGWOS) Upper Colorado River Basin project focusing on the relation between snow dynamics and water resources. This data release consists of three child items. Each child item contains snow depth, snow density, snow temperature, or snow water equivalent values measured discretely in the field. The data are provided in comma separated value (CSV) files.

The Maumee River transports huge loads of nitrogen (N) and phosphorus (P) to Lake Erie. The increased concentrations of N and P are causing eutrophication of the lake, creating hypoxic zones, and contributing to phytoplankton blooms. It is hypothesized that the P loads are a major contributor to harmful algal blooms that occur in the western basin of Lake Erie, particularly in summer. This data set consists of the results of the statistical analysis (Asquith and others, 2020) of the remaining 10,295 water level records that met specific criteria to ensure that the water level records were representative of true groundwater conditions in the Mississippi River Valley alluvial aquifer. The data are provided in a CSV file named StatisticalAnalysis.csv, and in the Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) shapefile format consisting of a group of files that have been compressed into a zip archive named StatisticalAnalysis.zip.

This dataset is the raster, in feet, of the potentiometric-surface map, spring 2018, Mississippi River Valley alluvial (MRVA) aquifer. The raster cell size is 1,000 meters; the raster altitude data was referenced to the North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD 88). The raster was interpolated using (1) most of the available groundwater-altitude data from wells and surface-water-altitude data from streamgages, and (2) potentiometric-surface contours.
