The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the New Mexico Water Resources Research Institute (WRRI), identified basin characteristics and estimated mean annual streamflow for a regional study of 169 USGS surface-water streamgages throughout the state of New Mexico and adjacent states. The basin characteristics and mean annual streamflows presented here will be used to derive equations for estimating mean annual streamflow at ungaged locations in New Mexico. The accompanying directories contain basin characteristics computation methods and results, and mean annual streamflow at streamgages. Using a Geographic Information System (GIS), surface-water streamgages were selected based on their location in...
The Rangeland Hydrologic Erosion Model (RHEM) is an online model developed by the United States Department of Agriculture that is used to predict erosion and runoff in rangelands. The model was used to determine runoff and erosion predicitions for five different scenarios in the Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks National Monument. The five scenarios that RHEM was used to look at in the monument include current conditions as of 2016; climate variability; scrub encroachment; drought, heavy grazing, or land-use pressure; and vegetation removal. The inputs for each scenario were created using an R script and compiled into separate csv files. For the purpose of this data release, the five csv files were then compiled into...

The purpose of this data release is to present well location and construction data for select wells representing the water table in eastern Albuquerque and the selected groundwater-level measurements at the wells from the winters of 2008 and 2016. Construction and groundwater-level measurement data include screening intervals at the water table, reference elevation, depth to water in feet and elevation, measurement data, and latitude and longitude. Well data have been collected from the USGS Groundwater Site Inventory, Kirtland Air Force Base, AECOM, Sandia National Laboratory, and the City of Albuquerque. This data release contains files of the data from 2008, the data from 2016, the data from sites with measurements...
