geodata.gov is a geographic information system (GIS) portal, also known as the Geospatial One-Stop, that serves as a public gateway for improving access to geospatial information and data under the Geospatial One-Stop e-government initiative. Geospatial One-Stop is one of 24 e-government initiatives sponsored by the Federal Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to enhance government efficiency and to improve citizen services. Geospatial One-Stop makes it easier, faster, and less expensive for all levels of government and the public to access geospatial information. The portal is a catalog of geospatial information containing thousands of metadata records (information about the data) and links to live maps, features,...

The Nebraska Geospatial Data Center provides internet access to a wide variety of geospatial databases developed and/or maintained by various state, federal and local government agencies, academic institutions, and private entities. It is a one-stop enterprise portal for on-line searching, accessing, displaying and mapping available geo-data relating to the geographic area of Nebraska. The Center has created a unified enterprise-wide metadata clearinghouse and developed a web-based metadata submission site for the State. The online entry of metadata facilitates ongoing publication of metadata into the clearinghouse. The metadata entry contains descriptive information about the specific geo-data and is structured...

The Natural Resource and GIS Metadata and Data Store application (NPS Data Store) manages and shares natural resource and GIS metadata and data generated by the Natural Resource and Servicewide GIS Programs of the National Park Service. To facilitate data dissemination to the public and throughout the National Park Service, the NPS Data Store application functions as the NPS GIS Clearinghouse and posts non-sensitive geospatial information. Only the datasets referencing Wyoming are associated with this hyperlink. This is only a small portion of the National Park Service Data Clearinghouse.

WyomingView currently provides access to two main types of remotely sensed data: LANDSAT (WRS2) and Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer (ASTER) images. LANDSAT Data (WRS2) scheme can be accessed from 1984 through present. Images originate from Thematic Mapper 4 and 5 and Enhanced Thematic Mapper 7 data. Additionally there are over 600 ASTER very near infrared (VNIR) scenes for Wyoming from 2001 thru 2004. Future remotely sensed data which will be located on this site are LANDSAT Data in WRS1 shema and Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS).

Transportation and boundary data are available in ESRI Shapefile format as either statewide or county files. These data files are for use in geographic information systems (GIS) and are not directly viewable using Internet browsers or image viewing tools. The files were created to support CDOT planning projects and have been compiled from various sources and scales. Metadata is provided to describe the information contained in the attribute tables and should be viewed before downloading any of the files.

The Geospatial Data Gateway or Geo-Data Gateway provides easy and consistent access to natural resource data. You can search for available data by geographic area such as county or state, use our point and click map tool to find your area of interest; using a gazetteer, or by entering latitude and longitude coordinates. You can also search for data by theme, such as digital ortho imagery, digital elevation models (DEMs), or soils. You can then view a thumbnail, or sample of the data you've chosen to know if you want a copy of the data. If you do, you can either download the data directly onto your machine, pick it up via our ftp site, or order it on media such as CD.
Water rights in the State of Kansas are complex and dynamic entities that permit their owners the privilege of appropriating water for beneficial use. The amount of information collected on water rights is extensive and increases each year. The Kansas Department of Agriculture, Division of Water Resources (KDA-DWR), currently maintains an Oracle-based RDBMS called the Water Rights Information System (WRIS). The WRIS contains over 70 relational tables that store data on points of diversion (e.g. ground-water wells and surface water intakes), place of use, authorized quantity and rate allocations, historic reported water usage, and a host of other parameters. The ability to extract out information from the WRIS data...
