This vector polygon feature class was developed from the Upper Midwest & Great Lakes Landscape Conservation Cooperative's Coastal Conservation Working Group (CCWG) "Designing the Coastal Wetlands of Tomorrow" September 6th, 2017 stakeholder workshop. The polygon features represent potential areas of coastal wetland opportunities and were derived from paper maps marked up by workshop participants that they believed to be areas of opportunity for coastal wetland protection (maintain and protect current wetlands), restoration (add wetlands or increase size of a wetland), or enhancement (improve the quality of a wetland). The CCWG is particularly interested in these opportunities to partner and provide support for coastal...

Coastal zone managers and researchers often require detailed information regarding emergent marsh vegetation types (that is, fresh, intermediate, brackish, and saline) for modeling habitat capacities and needs of marsh dependent taxa (such as waterfowl and alligator). Detailed information on the extent and distribution of emergent marsh vegetation types throughout the northern Gulf of Mexico coast has been historically unavailable. In response, the U.S. Geological Survey, in collaboration with the Gulf Coast Joint Venture, the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Ducks Unlimited, Inc., and the Texas A&M University-Kingsville, produced a classification of emergent marsh vegetation types from Corpus Christi Bay,...

The Comprehensive Habitat Type Dataset was developed by merging NOAA Benthic Habitat Atlas (BHA), Ecological Mapping Systems of Texas (aka Texas Ecological Systems Database, TESD), and National Wetlands Inventory (NWI) data within the study area for the ICF 2012 project (CGP LCC 2012-002 Employing the Conservation Design Approach on Sea-Level Rise Impacts on Coastal Avian Habitats along the Central Texas Coast). BHA data was used to depict mangroves, oysters, and patchy, continuous, and discontinuous seagrass beds where BHA existed within the study area. NWI data was used for all wetland/intertidal environments where NWI data existed within the study area. TESD data was used for all upland environments, and weltand/intertidal...

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), prepared geographic information systems (GIS) layers for use in the West Virginia StreamStats application. The Digital Elevation Model and associated data were hydrologically conditioned, which is the process of burning in single line streams at the 1:24,000 scale into a digital elevation model to produce flow direction and flow accumulation grids. This data includes geotif images for a 10 meter digital elevation model, a flow direction, and a flow accumulation raster/grid image for the WV Streamstats area. The 34 HUCs represented by this dataset are 02070001, 02070002, 02070003, 02070004, 02070005, 02070006, 02070007, 05020001, 05020002,05020003, 05020004, 05020005, 05020006,...

This dataset contains data collected within limestone cedar glades at Stones River National Battlefield (STRI) near Murfreesboro, Tennessee. This dataset contains information on soil microbial density (Most Probable Number of heterotrophic, culturable microbes per gram of soil) for soil samples obtained from certain quadrat locations (points) within 12 selected cedar glades. This information was obtained by performing a Plate Dilution Frequency Assay (PDFA) on a series of serial dilutions for each soil sample. For each quadrat location (point), one soil sample was obtained under sterile conditions, using a trowel wiped with methanol and rinsed with distilled water, and was placed into an autoclaved jar with a tight-fitting...

This dataset contains data collected within limestone cedar glades at Stones River National Battlefield (STRI) near Murfreesboro, Tennessee. This dataset represents data collected at 120 quadrat locations (points) within 12 selected cedar glades and contains measurements of ground surface temperature for each point. Measurements were obtained on the following dates (which correspond to the fields in the dataset): February 6, 2012; March 5, 2012; April 2, 2012; April 23, 2012; May 25, 2012; June 21, 2012; July 19, 2012; August 23, 2012; September 27, 2012; November 5, 2012; December 17, 2012, January 21, 2013, February 18, 2013; March 19, 2013; April 15, 2013; and May 13, 2013; Points classified into four groups...

This shapefile represents habitat suitability categories (High, Moderate, Low, and Non-Habitat) derived from a composite, continuous surface of sage-grouse habitat suitability index (HSI) values for Nevada and northeastern California during the winter season, and is a surrogate for habitat conditions during periods of cold and snow.

This raster represents a continuous surface of sage-grouse habitat probability values for Nevada and California. These values are derived from modeling the resource selection function (RSF) for the region (see supplemental information in the Open File Report cited below for more details). Higher values indicate a higher probability of quality sage-grouse habitat. NOTE: This file does not include habitat for the Bi-State management area. This dataset is associated with the following Open-File Report; Coates, P.S., Casazza, M.L., Brussee, B.E., Ricca, M.A., Gustafson, K.B., Overton, C.T., Sanchez-Chopitea, E., Kroger, T., Mauch, K., Niell, L., Howe, K., Gardner, S., Espinosa, S., and Delehanty, D.J., 2014, Spatially...

This shapefile contains polygons representing the current range of twelve ecosystems in the southeastern U.S. and the Caribbean. These were the focal ecosystems for the research project. The polygons were created by digitizing a representative area that contained each ecosystem's extent, as defined from GAP land cover or NatureServe's National Map land cover data.
