Additional documents pertaining to the Landscape-scale Energy Action Plan (LEAP) Expert Panel meeting held on March 14, 2012 in Lakewood Colorado. This meeting was held to introduce potential panelists to the LEAP project and discuss their role in the development process. Documents include a list of meeting participants; a draft list of Conservation Elements to be included in the Wyoming pilot Landscape-scale Vulnerability Assessment (LVA), some of which will be addressed by Expert Panels; and a list of spatial data sets that have been collected by the Wyoming and R6 offices for possible use in the LVA or related analyses.

The goal of the Available Science Assessment Project (ASAP) is to synthesize and evaluate the body of scientific knowledge on specific, on-the-ground CAAs to determine the conditions, timeframes, and geographic areas where particular CAAs may be most effective for resource managers. We have derived a methodology that utilizes interviews, a systematic review process, and extensive engagement with natural resource managers and scientists throughout the Northwest Climate Science Center (NW CSC) region. For a test case, we will evaluate the science behind specific fire management actions in national forests in the region.

Presentation from the Landscape-scale Energy Action Plan (LEAP) End User Workshop held on March 13, 2012 in Lakewood Colorado. This meeting was held to solicit information from potential end users of LEAP (biologists, managers, project proponents), in order to better understand how LEAP tools can be built to meet their specific needs.
When the Earth experiences changes in its climate, wildlife respond by moving – species adjust their ranges to track changes in climate, moving out of areas that become too hot or otherwise inhospitable, and moving into areas that become newly hospitable. However, climate change is now proceeding so quickly that it is becoming difficult for species to move fast enough to keep pace. In addition, today’s landscapes feature significant barriers to movement presented by human land uses (e.g., roads, cities, farms). Such is the case in the region around the border of Washington and British Columbia, where increasing development pressure and limited coordination of land and wildlife management across the border pose a...

This U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Data Release provides derivative statistics of water used by Kansas public-supply systems in 2014. Gallons per capita per day is calculated using self-reported information in the “Part B: Monthly Water Use Summary” and “Part C: Population, Service Connections, and Water Rates” sections of the Kansas Department of Agriculture, Division of Water Resources' (DWR) annual municipal water use report (see appendixes at http://dx.doi.org/10.3133/ds964 for an example of a municipal water use report form.) Percent unaccounted for water is calculated using self-reported information in “Part B: Monthly Water Use Summary” of the DWR’s municipal water-use report. The published statistics from...
