This dataset consists of point gravity station data for 95 stations in the middle Carson River basin as published on figure 7 in the U.S. Geological Survey Scientific Investigations Report 2011-5055. The points have values of the complete Bouguer anomaly and observed gravity. In addition, 641 selected gravity stations from the U.S. Geological Survey Data Series 42 titled "Gravity data of Nevada" used in this study are included for reference and users are advised to reference that publication for information on those data. This dataset consists of polyline estimates of the thickness of basin-fill sediments at 200-foot contour intervals for the middle Carson River basin as published on figure 9 in the U.S. Geological Survey Scientific Investigations Report 2011-5055. The estimates were made using gravity data collected at 736 stations in the middle Carson River basin reduced to a residual complete Bouguer anomaly. A relation between residual gravity and depth to bedrock was developed from descriptions on drillers logs of 25 wells that encountered bedrock.

This data collection consists of a synthetic stream network and associated catchments developed as the foundation for a Spatially Referenced Regressions on Watershed Attributes (SPARROW) dissolved-solids source and transport model for the Upper Colorado River Basin (UCRB). The SPARROW model requires a hydrologically connected representation of a stream network through which loads are transported from an upstream reach to the next reach downstream (Schwarz and others, 2006; Moore and others, 2004). Each stream reach or segment within this synthetic stream network has an associated local drainage area or catchment used to calculate catchment characteristics that may have an effect on loads being modeled. The synthetic...

This data set consists of polylines representing groundwater-level altitude contours, 1982, for middle Humboldt River basin, north-central Nevada as published on plate 2, figure 3 in the U.S. Geological Survey Water-Resources Investigations Report 98-4209 titled "Hydrogeologic framework and ground-water levels, 1982 and 1996, middle Humboldt River basin, north-central Nevada," 1999. A subset of the contours were published as part of a larger data set representing water-table contours for Nevada (Buto and others, 2006). The remaining contours have been added to complete this data set. The U.S. Geological Survey's Upper Midwest Environmental Sciences Center (UMESC) has created high-resolution land cover/use data sets for the Upper Mississippi River System (UMRS). Aerial images of Pools 1-13 Upper Mississippi River System and Pools, Alton-Marseilles, Illinois River were collected in color infrared (CIR) in August of 2010 at 8”/pixel and 16”/pixel respectively using a mapping-grade Applanix DSS 439 digital aerial camera. In August 2011, CIR aerial images of Pools 14-Open River South, Upper Mississippi River and Pools Dresden-Lockport, Illinois River were collected at 16”/pixel with the same camera. The CIR aerial images were interpreted and automated using a 31-class LTRM vegetation classification....

The U.S. Geological Survey's Upper Midwest Environmental Sciences Center (UMESC) has created high-resolution land cover/use data sets for the Upper Mississippi River System (UMRS) from 1:15,000-scale color infrared aerial photos. These data have been used to create a variety of products, one of which is a data set used to classify aquatic areas. The 1989 and 1991 aquatic areas data sets were created by first generalizing the available land cover/use data into a land/water data set, then reinterpreting the aerial photography within the areas classified as water to determine the type of aquatic area. The geographic extent of the UMRS is the Mississippi River floodplain from Cairo, IL to Minneapolis, MN and the Illinois...

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers' Upper Mississippi River Restoration (UMRR) Program Long Term Resource Monitoring (LTRM) element has overseen the collection, processing, and serving of bathymetric data since 1989. A systemic data collection for the Upper Mississippi River System (UMRS) was completed in 2010. Water depth in aquatic systems is important for describing the physical characteristics of a river. Bathymetric maps are used for conducting spatial inventories of the aquatic habitat and detecting bed and elevation changes due to sedimentation. Bathymetric data is widely used, specifically for studies of water level management alternatives, modeling navigation impacts and hydraulic conditions, and environmental...

The data set includes delineation of sampling strata for the six study reaches of the UMRR Program’s LTRM element. Separate strata coverages exist for each of the three monitoring components (fish, vegetation, and water quality) to meet the differing sampling needs among components. Generally, the sampling strata consist of main channel, side channel, backwater, and impounded areas. The fish component further delineates a “shoreline” portion of the strata to be used for sampling gears deployed only along the shoreline. The data are raster in origin, with the center of each pixel representing the sampling location. Cell size is typically 50 meters, although several water quality strata are at 200 meter cell size.

Aerial imagery for the Upper Mississippi River System (UMRS) Navigational Pool 5 drawdown follow-up was collected in true color (TC) in August of 2015 at 6”/pixel using a mapping-grade Applanix DSS 439 digital aerial camera. All TC aerial images were orthorectified, mosaicked, and compressed into a JPEG2000-format image. The TC aerial images were interpreted and automated using a genus-level 150-class Long Term Resource Monitoring (LTRM) vegetation classification. The 2015 vegetation database was prepared by or under the supervision of competent and trained professional staff using documented standard operated procedures.

We applied Zequanox using a custom-engineered, boat mounted application system to replicated 0.30 Hectare plots within a small inland lake. The objectives of these applications were to determine if uncontained, open-water Zequanox applications could effectively control zebra mussel populations and protect native unionid mussel populations within zebra mussel infested systems. The datasets included are as follows: Exposure Water Chemistry Hardness and Alkalinity Native Mussel Sonde Water Chemistry Zebra Mussel Density Zebra Mussel Length Zebra Mussel Mortality Zequanox Concentration ShapeFiles: PLOTS, UNIONID, ZEQUANOX CONCENTRATION, ZM_DENSITY, ZM_MORTALITY
