Data are primarily type fossils from the USGS Menlo Park vertebrate Cenozioc Paleontology Collection created and maintained by U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). Data were collected by paleontologist Charles A. Repenning during his forty years of service within the USGS Paleontology And Stratigraphy Branch. His catalog was converted into digital form, Excel and Filemaker Pro database. The Catalog includes 516 fossil localities. Reppenning's supplementary data have been added whenever possible - including information extracted from field map locality points, Examine and Report on Referred Fossil reports with providing enhanced faunal lists, as well as formal publications. For the complete traditional dataset, please...

This inventory was originally created by Wilson and others (1980) describing the landslides triggered by the M 5.8 Livermore, California earthquake that occurred on 24 January 1980 at 19:00:09 UTC. Care should be taken when comparing with other inventories because different authors use different mapping techniques. This inventory also could be associated with other earthquakes such as aftershocks or triggered events. Please check the author methods summary and the original data source for more information on these details and to confirm the viability of this inventory for your specific use. This digital data release presents subsurface data from multiple geologic units that were part of a previous study of the regional subsurface structural configuration of the Powder River Basin in Wyoming and Montana. The original data within this geodatabase is sourced from an unpublished doctoral dissertation by Jessie Melick at Montana State University (Melick, 2013). Data contained in this release were generated from elevation grids developed by Jessie Melick using 28,000 wells and geophysical well logs penetrating Paleozoic to Mesozoic strata over a 70,000 square-kilometer area designated by the Department of Energy as a realistic locality for geologic carbon sequestration (Melick, 2013). Information included...
