The Laohu Shan cluster is named after the Laohu Shan fault that is part of the larger Qilian-Haiyuan fault system bordering northeastern Tibet in Gansu Province, China. The cluster does not contain any events over magnitude 6 but contains a half dozen magnitude 5 events, include a 5.8 Ms event on October 20, 1990. Both local seismic stations and the seismicity are somewhat scattered in this area so the cluster is larger geographically than is optimal. As a result the location uncertainties of events near the periphery are likey underestimated. In the late evening of November 27, 2022, an effusive eruption began inside Mokuʻāweoweo caldera at the summit of Mauna Loa volcano. Within a few hours, lava had covered most of the caldera floor, and several fissures just outside caldera sent short lava flows up to 3 kilometers (2 miles) to the southwest. Later in the morning of November 28, summit effusion ceased and the eruption moved into the volcano's Northeast Rift Zone. Several rift zone fissures were initially active, but by November 30 effusion had focused at a vent known as fissure 3. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) installed acoustic bedload monitoring systems at four sites along the Trinity River below Lewiston Dam to record the noise generated by mobilized bed material, known as sediment generated noise (SGN) (Geay and others, 2017). The four sites are: Trinity River at Lewiston (TRAL, 11525500), Trinity River above Grass Valley Creek (TRGVC, 11525630), Trinity River at Limekiln Gulch (TRLG, 11525655) and Trinity River at Douglas City (TRDC, 11525854). Natural resource managers and researchers often need long-term averages of historical and future climate scenarios for their study area yet may not have the resources to make these summaries. This project will provide high quality, detailed maps of historical and projected future climate and hydrologic conditions for California and a finer scale version for southern California. The project will also assess the feasibility of expanding these reference data to the southwestern US and identify the most suitable online data portals for the public to view and analyze the data in support of local initiatives. This dataset is the survey area footprint for the beach topography and near-shore bathymetry of Lake Superior at Minnesota Point, Duluth, Minnesota. The survey footprint represents a LAS dataset of terrestrial light detection and ranging (lidar) of beach topography and multibeam sonar bathymetry to approximately 1 kilometer (0.62 miles) offshore, for an approximately 2.27 square kilometer surveyed area. The surveys were completed July 20 - July 23, 2020.

This dataset is a LAS dataset containing light detection and ranging (lidar) data and sonar data representing the beach and near-shore topography of Minnesota Point near the Superior Entry of Lake Superior, Duluth, Minnesota. The LAS data sets were used to create a digital elevation model (DEM) of the approximately 2.27 square kilometer surveyed area. Lidar data were collected using a boat mounted Velodyne unit. Multibeam sonar data were collected using a Norbit integrated wide band multibeam system compact (iWBMSc) sonar unit. Single-beam sonar data were collected using a Ceescope sonar unit. This dataset consists of short-term (~31 years) shoreline change rates for the north coast of Alaska between the Point Barrow and Icy Cape. Rate calculations were computed within a GIS using the Digital Shoreline Analysis System (DSAS) version 4.3, an ArcGIS extension developed by the U.S. Geological Survey. Short-term rates of shoreline change were calculated using a linear regression rate-of-change method based on available shoreline data between 1979 and 2010. A reference baseline was used as the originating point for the orthogonal transects cast by the DSAS software. The transects intersect each shoreline establishing measurement points, which are then used to calculate short-term rates.

The California Groundwater Ambient Monitoring and Assessment Program (GAMA) is a statewide assessment of groundwater quality designed to help better understand and identify risks to groundwater resources. GAMA is implemented by the California State Water Resources Control Board. This dataset includes over 49,000 well records from the state well drillers databases in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Michigan. Each state well has at a minimum the well depth and a static water level. Static water levels were mostly determined when the well was constructed. Data included in this shapefile include the well construction date, well depth, well elevation (if determined), type of well, the methods used for determining the well location and elevation (if determined), casing and screen depths (where reported), the static water level and a date, and the year the well was constructed. This dataset represents 505 campsites along the Colorado River in Grand Canyon with associated debris flow probabilities calculated for approximately a 100-year period (Griffiths and others, 2004) and geomorphic attributes mapped by the U.S. Geological Survey, Southwest Biological Science Center, Grand Canyon Monitoring and Research Center (GCMRC) (Hadley and others, 2018). This data release contains California Department of Water Resources borehole data that were regularized by the US Geological Survey. The dataset contains borehole lithologic data, and geospatial data of water wells in the Hat Creek basin California, located east of Mount Shasta in northern California. The borehole dataset is released as an excel table and a shapefile and includes (1) individual borehole location, and (2) downhole lithologic interval data derived from well drillers’ lithology logs.
