This collection of files contains temperature data files (.ttd files) downloaded directly from Tiny Tag devices, as well exported temperature data as .csv files for each nest monitored with Tiny Tags by year. File names include Tiny Tag number, site, year, and nest ID..ttd files can be viewed using Tinytag Explorer. Note, however, that the times displayed by Tinytag Explorer are calculated when the data is displayed and depend on the daylight saving settings of the PC at that time. For example, if a .ttd file is opened before and after DST settings change, then all times displayed by Tinytag Explorer will go forward or back. All .csv files were exported using the Tinytag Explorer during the same daylight savings...

A hydro-economic model was developed by coupling a three-dimensional groundwater flow model of the Harney Basin, southeastern Oregon (using MODFLOW 6) with a hedonic agricultural economic model. The hydro-economic model was used to investigate a set of hypothetical future scenarios having different groundwater pumpage conditions. The model looked at conditions 30 years beyond the 2018 conditions at the end of the HBGM transient simulation. This USGS data release contains all of the input and output files and needed Python scripts and JuPyter Notebooks for the simulations described in the associated journal article (https://doi.org/10.1029/2024WRXXXX)

This file contains information on herbivore fecal counts by year including location, date, and fecal counts. These data were only collected from 2016-2019.The data providers have invested considerable effort in QA/QC, but it is possible that undetected errors remain. It is strongly recommended that careful attention be paid to the contents of the metadata file associated with these data to evaluate data set limitations, restrictions, or intended use. The originators of this dataset shall not be held liable for improper or incorrect use of the data described and/or contained herein.Potential users of these data should first contact the data authors listed below, as potential biases may occur within the data depending...

This file contains information on incidental observations of lemmings and potential shorebird predators from 2018 and after by year including date and time, location, and predator or lemming observations. Data were separated by time period due to changes in methodologies that occurred in 2018.The data providers have invested considerable effort in QA/QC, but it is possible that undetected errors remain. It is strongly recommended that careful attention be paid to the contents of the metadata file associated with these data to evaluate data set limitations, restrictions, or intended use. The degradation of critical wintering and migratory stop-over sites is known to have direct consequences on the survival and reproductive condition of migratory shorebirds. However, little is known about migratory movements and connectivity of shorebird populations. By identifying migratory stop-over and wintering areas, we can begin to identify sites that should be conserved and evaluate the relative risks of development and climate change scenarios. Beginning in 2017, we initiated a project to track the migration movements of shorebird species using Argos, GPS, and Pinpoint tags. The primary objective of this study is to collect baseline information on movement patterns of shorebirds during the post-breeding period...

This data release provides water-quality trends for rivers and streams in the Delaware River Basin determined using the Weighted Regressions on Time, Discharge, and Season (WRTDS) model and the Seasonal Kendall Trend (SKT) test. Sixteen water-quality parameters were assessed, including nutrients (ammonia, nitrate, filtered orthophosphate, total nitrogen, total phosphorus, and unfiltered orthophosphate), major ions (calcium, chloride, magnesium, potassium, sodium, and sulfate), salinity indicators (total dissolved solids and specific conductance), and sediment (total suspended solids and suspended sediment concentration). The child items include the input and output data used in the modeling and testing of water-quality...

A three-dimensional groundwater flow model, MODFLOW 6, was developed to provide a better understanding of the hydrogeology of the Harney Basin, southeastern Oregon. The model was used to investigate the historical groundwater-level decline and storage loss associated with anthropogenic groundwater demands. The model was calibrated to 1930 through 2018 conditions. This USGS data release contains all of the input and output files for the simulation described in the associated model documentation report (https://doi.org/10.3133/sir20241518)

Principal to the management of migratory landbird resources is an understanding of their occurrence within the landscape. Baseline information on bird distribution is a primary need “to preserve a natural diversity and abundance of fauna and flora on refuge lands” (U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service [USFWS] 1993a). Documenting the occurrence and distribution of all migratory bird species is a priority of the USFWS’s action plan for developing a nongame bird inventory and monitoring strategy for National Wildlife Refuge system lands (USFWS 1993b ). Distribution and abundance information previously collected on National Wildlife Refuges has contributed to the description of distributional patterns of birds in Alaska....

Indirect interactions between different prey species modulated by shared predators (e.g. Arctic fox) are believed to have important impacts on the structure and/or dynamics of some communities. Yet, our understanding of these types of interactions are still fragmentary. To fill this information gap, the joint circumpolar project on indirect trophic interactions was established in 2016. This project built upon ongoing projects exploring related questions in Canada (Marie-Andrée Giroux, Nicolas Lecomte, Joel Bety) and Greenland (Olivier Gilg, Niels M. Schmidt), while taking advantage of existing networks (ASDN in North America and “Interactions” program in Greenland and Eurasia). The aim of this project was to promote...

This dataset is a 30-meter resolution national-scale raster of estimated subsurface tile drainage extent based on early 1990s county areas of subsurface tile drains and geospatial datasets of cropland and poorly drained soil. Specifically, it was developed using 1) county-level acres of subsurface tile drain extents from Sugg (2007); 2) the extent of cultivated cropland from the National Land Cover Database (NLCD) 2011; 3) the extent of poorly drained soil from the State Soil Geographic (STATSGO) database Version 2; 4) the extent of federally-owned land, and 5) county administrative boundaries. Sugg's (2007) area of subsurface tile drains within each county was evenly allocated to potentially drained land -- cropland...

This file contains information on incidental observations of lemmings and potential shorebird predators from 2011-2014 and 2016-2017 by year including date and time, location, and predator or lemming observations. Data from 2011-2014 were collected as part of the Arctic Shorebird Demographics Network while data from 2016-2017 were collected as part of the Joint Circumpolar Project on Indirect Trophic Interactions. As both studies used the same methodology, the data have been combined here. The data providers have invested considerable effort in QA/QC, but it is possible that undetected errors remain. It is strongly recommended that careful attention be paid to the contents of the metadata file associated with these...
