High-grade manganese ore waits at Floy on the Denver & Rio Grande Railroad, for shipment to the east. This ore has been laboriously hauled on soft sandy roads across the desert from the deposits situated from 10 to 20 miles to the south, and represents the collection of many small piles like those shown in 419. The ore pile as shown contains about 150 tons the content of which is about 45% of manganese. La Sal and Moab quadrangles, Grand County, Colorado. May 20, 1918.
