American pikas (Ochotona princeps) are small lagomorphs that live in mountainous talus areas of western North America. Studies on the histopathology of American pikas are limited. This report summarizes the clinical histories, and gross and histologic findings of 12 American pikas, including nine captive and three wild animals. Death was often attributed to stress (transport, handling, and anesthesia) with few to no premonitory clinical signs. Two cases died due to infection: one had bacterial pyogranulomatous dermatitis, cellulitis, and lymphadenitis with sepsis; the other case had fungal necrotizing colitis. These data describe the results of virus isolation from oropharyngeal/cloacal swabs and testing of sera by a commercial blocking enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (bELISA) and hemagglutinin (HA) specific testing by microneutralization (MN) and hemagglutination inhibition (HI) for Lesser Scaup in both the Atlantic and Pacific Flyways and Greater Scaup in the Pacific Flyway. These data support a USGS published manuscript.

These two datasets contain metrics from hydrodynamic and particle tracking simulations for two sub-reaches of the Upper Missouri River near Wolf Point, MT. The upstream reach is referred to as the “upper” reach while the downstream reach is referred to as the “lower” reach. Simulations were performed for 16 flows in the range of 185-635 cms at increments of 30 cms.

Continuous water-temperature data were collected at multiple sites along the Middle Fork and mainstem Willamette Rivers between Jasper and Newberg, Oregon, to support effectiveness monitoring for a large-scale channel and floodplain restoration program (Willamette Focused Investment Partnership, WFIP). Continuous water temperature loggers were deployed at a subset of WFIP restoration sites where river restoration activities were implemented to improve habitat conditions for native fish species. Risk assessments describe the risk of a species’ invasion in a location, and many risk assessments have been produced by different institutions for various reasons. However, information is sporadically located online, increasing the difficulty of developing comprehensive lists of species with risk assessments or comparing assessment results across species in locations of interest. Therefore, we aggregated species risk assessments by searching information systems and conducting a literature review. Anaerobic microcosm experiments were conducted in April-May 2018 with PFAS-contaminated soil from a U.S. Army installation (Fort Drum, New York) and simulated groundwater. All microcosms, except for a live sediment control, were amended with perfluorooctanesulfonate (PFOS), perfluorooctanoate (PFOA), and 6:2 fluorotelomer sulfonate (6:2 FtS). Replicate treatments were prepared with and without bioaugmentation with the WBC-2 dehalogenating culture and with and without addition of chlorinated volatile organic compounds (1,1,2,2-tetrachloroethane and trichloroethylene). This dataset contains breakthrough curves calculated from particle tracking simulations of a July 1, 2019, larval drift experiment conducted on the Upper Missouri River near Wolf Point, MT. Breakthrough curves were generated using a custom script written in the Python programming language that counts the number of particles per time step passing through sampling locations. Breakthrough curves were generated for particles using passive, active75pct, and active60pct vertical movement methods at the first two sampling stations downstream of the release location.
