The U.S. Geological Survey is developing national water-use models to support water resources management in the United States. Model benefits include a nationally consistent estimation approach, greater temporal and spatial resolution of estimates, efficient and automated updates of results, and capabilities to forecast water use into the future and assess model uncertainty. This data release contains data used in a machine learning model to estimate monthly water use for communities that are supplied by public-supply water systems in the conterminous United States for 2000-2020. This data release also contains associated scripts used to produce input features as well as model output values by 12-digit hydrologic...
These data were released prior to the October 1, 2016 effective date for the USGS’s policy dictating the review, approval, and release of scientific data as referenced in USGS Survey Manual Chapter 502.8 Fundamental Science Practices: Review and Approval of Scientific Data for Release. This geodatabase includes spatial datasets that represent the Cambrian-Ordovician aquifer system in the States of Wisconsin, Michigan, Minnesota, Iowa, and Illinois. Included are: (1) a polygon dataset that represents the aquifer system extent, (2) raster datasets for the altitude of each aquifer subunit, (3) altitude, or if applicable, thickness contours used to generate the surface rasters, (4) georeferenced images of the figures...
The U.S. Geological Survey-Illinois Water Science Center collected bathymetric data in Lake Calumet and a portion of the Calumet River in the vicinity of Lake Calumet to produce a bathymetric map. The bathymetric survey was conducted over three days (July 26, September 11, and November 7, 2012). Lake Calumet has become a focus area for Asian carp rapid response efforts by state and federal agencies and very little bathymetric data existed prior to this survey. This bathymetric survey provides data for a variety of scientific and engineering studies of the area; for example, hydraulic modelling of water and sediment transport from Lake Calumet to the Calumet River. Duncker, J.J., Johnson, K.K., and Sharpe, J.B.,...

The final inverted resistivity models within the “Airborne electromagnetic surveys of the Mississippi Alluvial Plain and Chicot Aquifer System, March 2018 and May - August 2021: Resistivity Models” child item are broken up according to the three main objectives of these surveys: River surveys along the thalweg of major rivers with the MAP and the Chicot Aquifer extents; Levee surveys along the Mississippi and Arkansas rivers from Cairo, IL to Baton Rouge, LA and northwest from the confluence of the Mississippi and Arkansas rivers to Pine Bluff, AR; and gridded products mainly focused on gravel bars within the Mississippi River from Helena, MS to the confluence with the Arkansas River. The data in this child item...

This geodatabase includes spatial datasets that represent the Texas Coastal Uplands and Mississippi Embayment aquifer system in the States of Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Tennessee, and Texas. Included are: (1) polygon extents; datasets that represent the aquifer system extent, the entire extent subdivided into subareas or subunits, and any polygon extents of special interest (outcrop areas,...
