This part of DS 781 presents data for bathymetry for several seafloor maps of the Offshore of Point Conception Map Area, California. The vector data file is included in "BathymetryHS_OffshorePointConception.zip," which is accessible from https://doi.org/10.5066/F7QN64XQ. Shaded-relief bathymetry of the Offshore of Point Conception map area in southern California was generated largely from acoustic-bathymetry data collected by Fugro Pelagos Inc. Acoustic mapping was completed in 2008 using a combination of 400-kHz Reson 7125, 240-kHz Reson 8101, and 100-kHz Reson 8111 multibeam echosounders. Bathymetric-lidar data was collected in the nearshore area by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Joint Lidar Bathymetry...

This part of DS 781 presents data for the Seafloor character map of the Offshore of Point Conception Map Area, California. The vector data file is included in "SeafloorCharacter_OffshorePointConception.zip," which is accessible from https://doi.org/10.5066/F7QN64XQ. This raster-format seafloor-character map shows four substrate classes in the Offshore of Point Conception map area, California. The substrate classes mapped in this area have been colored to indicate which of the following California Marine Life Protection Act depth zones and slope classes they belong: Depth Zone 2 (intertidal to 30 m), Depth Zone 3 (30 to 100 m), Depth Zone 4 (100 to 200 m), Depth Zone 5 (deeper than 200 m), Slope Class 1 (0 degrees...

One of the largest hydraulic mines (1.6 km2) is located in California’s Sierra Nevada within the Humbug Creek watershed and Malakoff Diggins State Historic Park (MDSHP). MDSHP’s denuded and dissected landscape is composed of weathered Eocene auriferous sediments susceptible to chronic rill and gully erosion whereas block failures and debris flows occur in more cohesive terrain. This data release includes a 1992 digital surface model (DSM), 1992 orthophoto mosaic, masked orthophoto of the study area, 1992 ground cover classification, and 1992 pruned DSM with the vegetation bias removed. Stereo-photogrammetry was used to create a 1992 digital surface model (DSM) and orthophoto mosaic from archived aerial photographs....

From 2013 to 2015, bathymetric surveys of New York City’s six West of Hudson reservoirs (Ashokan, Cannonsville, Neversink, Pepacton, Rondout, and Schoharie) were performed to provide updated capacity tables and bathymetric maps. Depths were surveyed with a single-beam echo sounder and real-time kinematic global positioning system (RTK-GPS) along planned transects at predetermined intervals for each reservoir. A separate set of echo sounder data was collected along transects at oblique angles to the main transects for accuracy assessment. Field survey data was combined with water-surface elevations in a geographic information system to create three-dimensional surfaces representing reservoir-bed elevations in the...

Raster dataset showing saturated thickness (in feet) of the alluvium in the Lower Arkansas River Valley, Southeast Colorado, June 1 - November 30, 2008 (hereafter defined as "fall"). Saturated thickness values based on water levels measured in the study area and median lake level at John Martin Reservoir during this time period. Surface interpolations for water-table altitude were done using Inverse Distance Weighting using coordinate and altitude data from "Wells and water-level altitude in the alluvium in the Lower Arkansas River Valley, Southeast Colorado, Spring and Fall 2002, 2008, and 2015" (see cross reference section in metadata), and surface interpolation of bedrock was done using Topo to Raster using elevation...

Seafloor character was derived from interpretations of air photo derived kelp distribution data available for the Santa Cruz Island (Kushner and others 2013). The number of substrate classes was reduced because rugosity could not be derived for all areas.
