Geospatial datasets were developed to estimate the altitude of the top of bedrock, altitude of the top of the Paradox salt, altitude of the water table in the alluvial aquifer, and the thickness and extent of saturated alluvium in the Paradox Valley in western Colorado. This study was completed by the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in cooperation with the Bureau of Reclamation for modeling of brine discharge to the Dolores River (Heywood and others, 2024; Paschke and others, 2024). One point dataset and 11 surfaces (shapefiles or rasters) are published in this data release. The point dataset (Paradox_well_data.zip) contains water-level and geologic data for groundwater, observation, test, and production wells in...
This dataset contains two-dimensional hydraulic models throughout the Willamette River, extending from the McKenzie River confluence, near Eugene, to the city of Newberg. The study reach is separated into five individual models to simplify tributary inflow boundary conditions and for run-time efficiency. These models were developed to assess juvenile salmonid habitat at streamflows ranging from typical low summer flows to roughly the median annual high flow along each reach. Steady-state streamflow conditions were simulated in an unsteady flow simulation by holding streamflow constant for longer periods of time. Underlying these models is a digital elevation model, which combines bathymetric lidar, collected in...

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) calculated multiple basin characteristics as part of preparing the Upper Colorado & Gunnison Rivers Pilot StreamStats application. These datasets are raster representations of various environmental, geological, and land use attributes within the Upper Colorado & Gunnison Rivers study area (also known as the Next-Generation Water Observing System, or NGWOS), and will be served in the National StreamStats application (https://streamstats.usgs.gov) to describe delineated watersheds. The StreamStats application provides access to spatial analysis tools that are useful for water-resources planning and management, and for engineering and design purposes. The map-based user interface can...

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the Oklahoma Water Resources Board, produced this data release that includes vector and raster geographic information systems layers used in the analysis and publication of a mean annual runoff and annual runoff variability map for 1940–2007 for Oklahoma. The data release covers all 69 8-digit hydrologic units with at least 1 square mile of area in Oklahoma; those 8-digit hydrologic units contain 2,870 12-digit hydrologic units that provided the geographic framework for the analysis described in the companion map report (USGS Scientific Investigations Map 3482). The mean annual runoff and annual runoff variability values presented in this data release are most...

This data release contains 3-meter gridded rasters of depth to bedrock below bathymetric surface, the thickness of unconsolidated sediment, and the volume of unconsolidated sediment within a 2.6-km reach of the Similkameen River, Okanogan County, Washington, impounded by Enloe Dam. These rasters were calculated from continuous resistivity profiles (CRP) surveyed using a SuperSting R8 8-channel resistivity meter with a CRP streamer containing a 100-m long array of 11 electrodes was towed behind a boat spaced at 10 m. After collection, the raw CRP files were georeferenced to coordinates concurrently by a global positioning system. Output files were merged and linearized. This was converted to a data file compatible...

In cooperation with the Puerto Rico Environmental Quality Board, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) calculated over 40 different basin characteristics as part of preparing the Puerto Rico StreamStats application. These data were used to update the peak flow and low flow regression equations for Puerto Rico. These datasets are raster representations of various environmental, geological, and land use attributes within the Puerto Rico StreamStats 2020 study area, and will be served in the Puerto Rico StreamStats 2020 application to describe delineated watersheds. The StreamStats application provides access to spatial analytical tools that are useful for water-resources planning and management, and for engineering and...

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in cooperation with the Harris‐Galveston Subsidence District, City of Houston, Fort Bend Subsidence District, Lone Star Groundwater Conservation District, and Brazoria County Groundwater Conservation District produced this dataset of groundwater‐level altitudes and groundwater‐level altitude changes in the Chicot and Evangeline aquifers (undifferentiated) and Jasper aquifers in the greater Houston area, Texas. This dataset shows current‐year (2021) groundwater‐level altitudes for each aquifer, 1–year (2020–21), 5‐year (2016–21) groundwater‐level changes for each aquifer, long‐term (1990–2021 and 1977–2021) groundwater‐level changes for the Chicot and Evangeline aquifers (undifferentiated)...

The Ozark Plateau aquifer system stretches across approximately 70,000 square miles (mi2) of Arkansas, Missouri, Kansas and Oklahoma, and is composed of many hydrogeologic units, such as the Boone aquifer and the Roubidoux aquifer. However, this data release is focused on only 11,000 mi2 in northern Arkansas, southeastern Kansas, southwestern Missouri, and northeastern Oklahoma. The Boone aquifer covers approximately 10,700 mi2 of this area, and the Roubidoux aquifer covers the 11,000 mi2 area entirely. These aquifers are mostly made of Mississippian-aged and Ordovician-aged carbonate rock, and serve as the main sources of fresh groundwater in northeastern Oklahoma (Imes and Emmett, 1994). In 2017, the U.S. Geological...

In cooperation with the South Carolina Department of Transportation, the U.S. Geological Survey calculated four land cover basin characteristics rasters from the National Land Cover Database (NLCD) 2019 as part of updating the South Carolina StreamStats application. These datasets are raster representations of impervious surface, developed, forested, and storage land cover attributes within the South Carolina StreamStats study area, and will be served in the South Carolina StreamStats application (https://www.usgs.gov/streamstats) to describe delineated watersheds. The StreamStats application provides access to spatial analytical tools that are useful for water-resources planning and management, and for engineering...

The USGS, in cooperation with the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, surveyed the bathymetry within an area of about 500 acres of American Falls Reservoir between River Miles 713 and 714 during the week of August 6-8, 2019. The bathymetric survey provided high resolution detail of a proposed treatment area for an aeration system that is being developed to support water quality during the American Falls spillway concrete repair project and possibly thereafter. The Water Quality Restoration Plan detailing this effort is an appendix of the of the Final Environmental Assessment (EA) in conjunction with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance process.
