Prior research has shown that sediment budgets, and therefore stability, of microtidal marsh complexes scale with areal unvegetated to vegetated marsh ratios (UVVR) suggesting these metrics are broadly applicable indicators of microtidal marsh vulnerability. This feature class was created to assemble oil and gas well information for a comprehensive inventory of energy data pertinent to the Wyoming Landscape Conservation Initiative decision-making process. These data are available as online resources for scientists, resource managers engaged in the Initiative, and other researchers. The GIS data and map services created for this study are available for interactive analysis and/or download at the Energy Geoscience Center WLCI website.

This dataset represents lineaments in the Powder River Basin as identified in the following publication: Anna, L.O., 1986, Geologic framework of the ground water system in Jurassic and Cretaceous rocks on the Northern Great Plains, in parts of Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wyoming: U.S. Geological Survey Professional Paper 1402-B, 36 p. Structural features were transferred from the publication to a hard-copy base map by province geologist, then digitized and referenced for use in a Geographic Information System (GIS). Structural may: 1) enhance secondary reservoir permeability and 2) provide migration pathways in unconventional rocks.

This data set contains shoreline rate of change statistics for New York State coastal wetlands. Analysis was performed using the Digital Shoreline Analysis System (DSAS), created by U.S. Geological Survey, version 5.0, an extension for ArcMap. A reference baseline was used as the originating point for orthogonal transects cast by the DSAS software. The transects intersect each polyline vector shoreline establishing intersection measurement points, which were then used to calculate the rates of change. Estimates of the probability of mortality in whitebark pine from mountain pine beetles as determined from a logistic generalized additive model of the presence of mortality as functions of the number of trees killed last year, the percent whitebark pine in each cell, minimum winter temperature, average fall temperature, average April - Aug temperature, and cummulative current and previous year summer precipitation. Analysis was done at a 1 km grid cell resolution. Data are a list of points in comma separated text format. Point coordinates are the center of each 1 km grid cell.
This USGS Data Release represents the data used to develop multiple linear regression models for estimating the loads of total nitrogen in small streams. Recursive partitioning and random forest regression were used to assess 85 geospatial, environmental, and watershed variables across 636 small (less than 585 square kilometers) watersheds to determine which variables are fundamentally important to the estimation of annual loads of total nitrogen. This dataset includes quantifications of bigheaded carp DNA found in water samples collected from the Wabash River along transects at 3 sites over time. The samples were collected at 18 equidistant points in a transect across the river at each site. Samples were collected in 2013 on May 29, 30, 31, June 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 16, 17, 19, 20, 21, and 22. Quantitative polymerase chain reaction (qPCR) was performed to determine the DNA concentrations in two replicates using the bigheaded carp assay defined in Merkes and others 2014.

The Denver fossil algae database were gathered from the inception of Denver Region in 1953 by Richard Rezak. His specialty was algae, carbonate platforms, and off-shore modern reefs. He developed a very useful litho-stratigraphic tool while studying Proterozoic algae and stromatolites in Glacier National Park. This lead to his studies of modern analogs in the Caribbean and South Seas. His catalogs were converted into digital form, Excel and Filemaker Pro database. The Catalog consist of 1001 fossil localities. His supplementary data has been added whenever possible - sources field map locality points, E&R files with enhanced faunal lists, as well as formal publications

This U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) Data Release provides spatial water-quality data collected from Milford Lake, Kansas, on May 26, June 9, July 14, July 21, and September 15, 2016. All data are reported as raw measured values and are not rounded to USGS significant figures. Continuous water-quality monitors were used to measure water temperature, specific conductance, turbidity, pH, chlorophyll, phycocyanin, dissolved oxygen, and fluorescent dissolved organic matter (fDOM) at thirty-second intervals at depths of 0.5- and 1.5-meters throughout the lake.

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has compiled national shoreline data for more than 20 years to document coastal change and serve the needs of research, management, and the public.
