Grassland priority conservation areas (GPCAs) within North America's Central Grasslands identified by the Commission for Environmental Cooperation of North America. GPCAs are defined as areas of tri-national importance due to their ecological significance and threatened nature, which are in need of international cooperation for their successful conservation.

Vegetation and land cover data for Ellicott Slough NWR. This dataset was generated through interpretation of high resolution (1m spatial resolution) aerial photography from the National Agricultural Imagery Program (NAIP) , acquired in the summer of 2009. Field sampling was conducted in March 2010 to inform the interpretation process, but no formal classifcation accuracy assessment was conducted.

Remote camera data on snow presence, snow depth, and wildlife detections on Moscow Mountain in Latah County, ID, USA. Reconyx Hyperfire I and Hyperfire II cameras were set to take hourly timelapse images and motion-triggered images from October 2020 - May 2021 at 5 elevation categories (800-925m, 925-1050m, 1050-1175m, 1775-1300m, and > 1300m), 4 aspects (N, S, E, and W), and 3 canopy densities (Sparse [0-35%], Moderate [35-75%], and Dense [75-100%]), in duplicate, plus 17 selected microclimates (137 locations total), on Moscow Mountain in Latah County, ID. Images from 27 other locations were part of a pilot experiment during January to May 2020. Data in the CSVs include image metadata, camera site characteristics,...

Working with the conservation partnership in the Central Loess Hills BUL, this project was designed to develop the necessary baseline data and species habitat models needed to guide targeted conservation. Development of a conservation portfolio for the Central Loess Hills required five separate, but equally important elements. The elements of this project were: 1) Develop a spatially accurate landcover that delineates key habitats for which at-risk species respond, 2) Analyze landcover to develop meaningful landscape indices that can be used to develop spatially explicit species habitat models, 3) Collect and compile occurrence data for priority species (greater prairie chicken, whooping crane, and waterfowl), 4)...

We have defined resilience as a function of both a site’s diversity of topoclimates and the site’s ability to support species movement, or terrestrial landscape permeability. Here, we posit that topoclimates provide species localized refugia from the direct effects of a changing climate, whereas landscape permeability reflects the ability of the landscape mosaic to facilitate terrestrial species movement to and between topoclimates as they shift in response to their respective climatic envelopes.90 m topoclimate data, scaled from 0.2 – 1, were multiplied with terrestrial landscape permeability data, scaled from 0 – 1, to generate a resilience value for every 90 m cell across the project area. NOTE: Two data download links are provided. The first includes the data described below as a geographic point layer and as a .csv file. The second link is a data package containing: the annual probability of observing one individual, the annual probability of encountering a large flock, and the monthly probability of observing one individual, for the full set of 24 species (in .csv format), and the associated report “Mapping the distribution, abundance and risk assessment of marine birds in the Northwest Atlantic.” To improve display of this data on Data Basin the point data was converted to a raster grid. This map depicts the mean predicted probability of observing at least one individual Bonaparte's Gull (Chroicocephalus...

This dataset is a component of a complete package of products from the Connect the Connecticut project. Connect the Connecticut is a collaborative effort to identify shared priorities for conserving the Connecticut River Watershed for future generations, considering the value of fish and wildlife species and the natural ecosystems they inhabit. Click here to download the full data package, including all documentation. This dataset depicts the potential capability of the landscape throughout the Connecticut River Watershed to provide habitat for Moose (Alces alces) based on environmental conditions existing in approximately 2010. Landscape capability integrates factors influencing climate suitability, habitat capability,...

This dataset contains data collected within limestone cedar glades at Stones River National Battlefield (STRI) near Murfreesboro, Tennessee. This dataset contains measurements of volumetric soil water content at certain quadrat locations (points) within 12 selected cedar glades. All soil water content measurements in this file were obtained using a portable time-domain reflectometry (TDR) unit (FieldScout TDR 300 Soil Moisture Meter; Spectrum Technologies, Inc., Plainfield, IL, USA) that was fitted with the shortest probe length, 3.8 centimeters (cm). Six measurements were obtained per quadrat, and the values present in the fields of this dataset represent the means of these six measurements. In some cases, equipment...

Measurements were obtained on the following dates (which correspond to the fields in the dataset): February 6t, 2012; March 5, 2012; April 2, 2012; April 23, 2012; May 25, 2012; June 21, 2012; July 19, 2012; August 23, 2012; September 27, 2012; November 5, 2012; December 17, 2012; January 21, 2013; February 18, 2013; March 19, 2013; April 15, 2013; and May 13, 2013. Points were classified into four groups (identified by the field "Group") and were visited on a rotating sampling schedule, such that each group of points was visited...

This dataset contains data collected within limestone cedar glades at Stones River National Battlefield (STRI) near Murfreesboro, Tennessee. This dataset represents interpolated estimates of precipitation (in decimal inches) for 120 quadrat locations (points) within 12 selected cedar glades, for a period of time from 6 days (144 hours) prior to the field visit day up until 3 days (72 hours) prior to the field visit day. At each field visit, precipitation data was collected at four rain gauges installed at STRI. Rain gauge measurements were obtained on the following dates (which correspond to 3 days prior to the fields in the dataset): February 3, 2012; March 2, 2012; March 30, 2012; April 20, 2012; May 22, 2012;...

This shapefile represents habitat suitability categories (High, Moderate, Low, and Non-Habitat) derived from a composite, continuous surface of sage-grouse habitat suitability index (HSI) values for Nevada and northeastern California formed from the multiplicative product of the spring, summer, and winter HSI surfaces.

To ensure comparable spatial and temporal coverage with similar historic datasets, we flew 32 east-west-oriented uniform transects (spaced at 15' latitude [27.8-km] intervals) when possible to the 2000-m isobath (includes shelf, slope, and rise waters). At the request of BOEM, we included six focal-area surveys nested within the overall broad transect survey area. Each focal-area survey consisted of ten 25-km, parallel transect lines targeting shelf waters and spaced at 6-km intervals. This pattern (broad survey lines and Focal Area survey lines) was surveyed during each oceanographic season: summer (June-July), fall (September-October), and winter (January-February) during 2011 and 2012. Aerial survey methods follow...

These files contain pressure data from two Solinst Levelogger Gold pressure transducers (Model 3001 LT F15/M5) and one Solinst barologger (Model 3001 LT F5/M1.5). The transducers are located next to temperature transducer locations Rod1 and Rod2 in the infiltration installation immediately up and downstream of Gabion 2 in the ephemeral channel of Vaughn Canyon.

The data set includes delineation of sampling strata for the six study reaches of the UMRR Program’s LTRM element. Separate strata coverages exist for each of the three monitoring components (fish, vegetation, and water quality) to meet the differing sampling needs among components. Generally, the sampling strata consist of main channel, side channel, backwater, and impounded areas. The fish component further delineates a “shoreline” portion of the strata to be used for sampling gears deployed only along the shoreline. The data are raster in origin, with the center of each pixel representing the sampling location. Cell size is typically 50 meters, although several water quality strata are at 200 meter cell size.
