This data set provides Daymet Version 3 model output data as gridded estimates of daily weather parameters for North America and Hawaii: including Canada, Mexico, the United States of America, Puerto Rico, and Bermuda. The island areas of Hawaii and Puerto Rico are available as files separate from the continental land mass. Daymet output variables include the following parameters: minimum temperature, maximum temperature, precipitation, shortwave radiation, vapor pressure, snow water equivalent, and day length. The data set covers the period from January 1, 1980 to December 31 of the most recent full calendar year. Each subsequent year is processed individually at the close of a calendar year. Daymet variables are...

This elevation data was obtained from the PRISM climate group, distributed by Climate Source. From personal communication with Wayne Gibson, it was "based off of GTOPO30 data, and then Barnes filtered to the desired resolution" Wayne Gibson PRISM Group Northwest Alliance for Computational Science & Engineering (NACSE) 2000 Kelley Engineering Center Oregon State University Corvallis, Oregon, 97331-5501 Oregon State University Voice: (541) 737-2531 http://www.prism.oregonstate.edu/ http://www.climatesource.com/ http://www1.gsi.go.jp/geowww/globalmap-gsi/gtopo30/gtopo30.html SNAP resampled the 2km product to the 1km model resolution through bilinear interpolation. This archive contains daily statistically downscaled climate projections for the United States and southern Canada east of the Rocky Mountains at 0.1 degree resolution. Further documentation is available here: http://djlorenz.github.io/downscaling2/main.html The downscaled variables are daily precipitation, daily maximum temperature and daily minimum temperature. The downscaling is based on 13 models from Phase 3 of the Coupled Model Inter-comparison Project (CMIP3), a critical source of data to the Fourth Assessment Report of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC AR4).

This collection contains three statistically downscaled time series (datasets) for the Red River Basin (South Central U.S.), and one dataset used as historical observations. In particular, three different Global Climate Models (MPI-ESM-LR, CCSM4 and MIROC5) were downscaled using three different quantile mapping methods (CDFt, EDQM and BCQM). We do not recommend the use of the BCQM method, as the CDFt method is considered an improvement of it. The datasets created using the BCQM method are published as a demonstration of the risks of using flawed methods. The variables of interest are: daily maximum and minimum temperature, and daily precipitation. The spatial resolution of the datasets in the collection is 1/10th...

NOTICE: Given the large size of the MACAv2METDATA dataset, and a known issue with the data server being used to host it, initial load times may take a very long time and / or time out. Subsequent requests should be faster due to caching, but the cache clears periodically and the dataset must be rescanned prior to access. We are working on a fix for this issue. In the mean time, please use the dataset with care and make sureyou've reviewed the GDP scalability guidelines. https://my.usgs.gov/confluence/display/GeoDataPortal/Geo+Data+Portal+Scalability+Guidelines This archive contains daily downscaled meteorological and hydrological projections for the Conterminous United States at 1/24-deg resolution utilizing the...

Monthly water yields for 105,829 catchments and corresponding flows for 107,691 stream segments were estimated for water years 1951-2012 in the United States part of the Great Lakes Basin. Estimates were computed using the AFINCH (Analysis of Flows In Networks of CHannels) application within the NHDPlus geospatial data framework. AFINCH provides an environment to develop constrained regression models to integrate monthly streamflow and water-use data with monthly climatic data and fixed basin characteristics data available within NHDPlus or supplied by the user. Monthly flow time series for individual stream segments can be retrieved and used to approximate monthly flow duration characteristics and to identify possible...

This archive contains daily surface meteorological (METDATA) data for the Continental United States at 4-km (1/24-deg) resolution. The meteorological variables are maximum/minimum temperature, precipitation amount and duration, maximum/minimum relative humidity, downward shortwave solar radiation, wind speed and direction, and specific humidity. The method utilized here combines desirable spatial attributes of gridded climate data from PRISM and desirable temporal attributes of regional-scale reanalysis and daily gauge-based precipitation from NLDAS-2 to derive a spatially and temporally complete high resolution gridded dataset of surface meteorological variables for the continental US for 1979-2012. Validation of...

The National Cohesive Wildland Fire Management Strategy, initiated in 2009 and finalized in 2014, provides a national vision for wildland fire management. This highly collaborative effort establishes three overarching goals, and describes stakeholder-driven processes for achieving them: (1) resilient landscapes; (2) fire-adapted communities; and (3) safe and effective wildfire response. The scientific rigor of this program was ensured with the establishment of the National Science and Analysis Team (NSAT). The main tasks of NSAT were to compile credible scientific information, data, and models to help explore national challenges and opportunities, identify a range of management options, and help set national priorities...
