These datasets were developed to represent the genetic diversity, population structure, and geographic distribution of Plantago ovata in the Mojave Desert. This data release consists of two tab-delimited text files representing the genetic diversity and structure of Plantago ovata (.genepop and .vcf), and two raster spatial datasets (GeoTIFF) reflecting predicted habitat for the species within the Mojave Desert. The genetic datasets record genetic variation at an individual level, with the file structures varying based on the programs within which the files are intended to be edited. The U.S. Geological Survey Toxic Substances Hydrology Program at Cape Cod has been investigating the fate and transport of a treated-wastewater, groundwater contaminant plume. A portion of the contaminated groundwater discharges into Ashumet Pond, a kettle hole, freshwater lake. A study was conducted from June 2013 to June 2015 to document transport, transformation, and discharge of dissolved inorganic nitrogen species (DIN; nitrate, nitrite, and nitrous oxide) from the contaminant plume to the lake, across the groundwater-surface water interface. Grass carp, bighead carp, and silver carp spawn in flowing water. Their eggs,and then larvae, develop while drifting. Hydraulic conditions control spawning locations, egg survival, and the downstream distance traveled before the hatched larvae can swim for low velocity nursery habitats. This dataset contains data collected from field blanks. Field blanks are deionized water processed in the field by community technicians using processing methods identical to those for surface water samples. Field blanks are then analyzed in the laboratory following procedures identical to those for surface water samples.

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the Bureau of Reclamation, began hydrogeologic investigations in 2009 in the Paradox Valley in Colorado. In June 2011, nine groundwater samples were collected from selected wells and springs in the study area. The samples were analyzed for a suite of environmental tracers and dissolved gases that were used to model recharge temperatures and groundwater ages. All geochemical and environmental tracer results used in the models are available in the USGS National Water Information System (NWIS) using USGS station numbers. This dataset includes the field measurements and laboratory analyses of surface water, seston, fish tissue, and sediment samples collected from Bighorn Lake, within Bighorn Canyon National Recreation area (BICA), during high flow (July 2015) and low flow (August 2016) conditions. The study area includes 7-9 sampling sites that follow a transect spanning the entire length of the reservoir from the Bighorn and Shoshone River inflows to the afterbay and tailwater below Yellowtail dam.
