This is a land cover dataset for Nebraska that was most recently updated in 2015 by the Rainwater Basin Joint Venture. This metadata record supplements the complete description of the data in Bishop, A., Barenberg, A., Volpe, N., and Grosse, R. January, Nebraska Land Cover Development Version 11. Rainwater Basin Joint Venture, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, Grand Island, Nebraska.

Regional geophysical maps of the Great Basin, USA were generated from new and existing sources to support ongoing efforts to characterize geothermal resource potential in the western US. These include: (1) a provisional regional gravity grid that was produced from data compiled from multiple sources: data collected by the USGS and Utah Geological Survey under various projects, industry sources, and regional compilations derived from two sources: a Nevada state-wide database (Ponce, 1997), and a public domain dataset (Hildenbrand et al., 2002), (2) a regional magnetic grid derived from the North American magnetic compilation map of Bankey et al. (2002) and, (3) a regional depth-to-basement grid derived from Shaw...
Forest cores are derived by applying an inverse buffer (-100m) to forest patches to represent the area of contiguous interior forest habitat. Forest patches are defined as areas of contiguous natural cover bound by non-natural edge or linear fragmenting features (roads, railroads, transmission lines, natural gas pipelines). The following land cover types were selected from the 2006 National Land Cover Database (NLCD) to define “natural cover”: deciduous forest, coniferous forest, mixed [deciduous-coniferous] forest, scrub-shrub, woody wetland, and emergent wetland. Forest patches were delineated based on non-forest edge (from the NLCD) and the following linear fragmenting features:electric transmission lines (from...

This ranking criterion was developed to identify those pits that most negatively impact watershed integrity of publically owned and Wetland Reserve Program (WRP) playa wetlands. Currently, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) manages 59 Waterfowl Production Areas (WPAs) while the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission oversees 35 Wildlife Management Areas (WMAs). These wetlands flood as a result of precipitation or snow melt. With the transition to pivot irrigation, a large number of irrigation reuse pits have been abandoned over recent years. Although not being used for irrigation, these pits continue to fill with water from precipitation events shortstopping water that could have reached the neighboring...

The Central Platte River Image Library is an extensive dataset of historic 1860's surveys by the Government Land Office and aerial photographs from 1938-2012. All datasets are either public domain property of the U.S. Government or published by the Rainwater Basin Joint Venture (RWBJV) with permission from the respective owner (specifically the Platte River Recovery Implementation Program or Central Platte Natural Resources District). The Central Platte River region of Nebraska extends from approximately Jeffery Reservoir (Western Extent) to Columbus (Eastern Extent). The library was completed May 2014 - Sept 2016 by the Rainwater Basin Joint Venture.
The model for golden-winged warbler was acquired from Dolly Crawford (Ashland University), which was included in Chapter 3 of the 2012 conservation plan (Roth et al., 2012). Model was composed of cells of predicted Golden-Winged Warbler occurrence across the study region. The study region was determined by the expert opinion derived by the technical team regarding the core breeding populations of Golden-Winged Warbler presence and assigned to the Great Lakes Conservation Region and Appalachian Conservation Region. Within these areas, certain extents are recommended for Golden-Winged Warbler conservation, as they are priority species in those regions and do not promote the invasion of Blue-Winged Warbler, a known...
Multibeam sonar data showing the bathymetric survey of two offshore submarine pockmarks, Miami Pockmark and Key Biscayne Pockmark. A series of dives were performed to produce the bathymetric surveys using an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) with a multibeam-sonar. These data were collected between May 5-8, 2016 using a Bluefin B12 AUV equipped with a Imagenex MBDelta and an onboard calibrated Kearfott T-24 Inertial Navigation System (INS) aided by a (WAAS), 600 kHz RDI Doppler Velocity Log (DVL) and a Valeport sound velocity meter.
Methane, nitrogen, oxygen, and carbon dioxide data were collected at two offshore submarine pockmarks, Miami Pockmark and Key Biscayne Pockmark. A series of dives were performed to gather the data using an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) with an Underwater Mass Spectrometer (UMS) instrument. The data were collected May 5-8, 2016 using a Bluefin B12 AUV equipped with a UMS and an onboard calibrated Kearfott T-24 Inertial Navigation System (INS) aided by a GPS Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS), 600 kHz RDI Doppler Velocity Log (DVL) and a Valeport sound velocity meter. The methane, nitrogen, oxygen, and carbon dioxide data collected from Miami Pockmark and Key Biscayne Pockmark are displayed in figures 1-8.
From late 2017 to early 2018, our team collected gravity, ground magnetic (ATV and hiked traverses) and rock property (density and susceptibility) data in southern Gabbs Valley in west-central Nevada.
