The digitally compiled map includes geology, oil and gas field centerpoints, and geologic provinces of the Arctic (North Pole area encircled by 640 N Latitude). The GIS data sets were designed originally in ESRI's ARC/INFO ver. 8.0.1 and were published as part of a series of interim CD-ROM products of the U.S. Geological Survey's World Energy Project (WEP). The goal of the WEP is to assess the undiscovered, technically recoverable oil and gas resources of the world. Results of this assessment were reported in the year 2000 (see USGS DDS-60; http://pubs.usgs.gov/dds/dds-060/).

The dataset consists of geochemical and isotopic data from fine-grained sediments and glendonite crystals collected at Carter Creek on the North Slope of Alaska. Total Organic Carbon (TOC) values in the measured section were found to range between 0.5 and 3.5%, with a shift towards lower values in the uppermost 5 m of the section. Stable isotopes (13C) in organic matter were relatively stable throughout the section, ranging between -25.5 and -26, with a slight 0.3 per mil positive shift within this range approximately 57 m from the base of the section. Glendonites themselves were analyzed for δ13Ccarb and δ18Ocarb, with δ18O values relatively consistent between -0.22 and +1.28, and a much wider range of δ13C values...

This file contains information pertaining to the survey plot including date and time of surveyed, survey conditions, plot location, and ecological and biological conditions of the survey plot. The data providers have invested considerable effort in QA/QC, but it is possible that undetected errors remain. It is strongly recommended that careful attention be paid to the contents of the metadata file associated with these data to evaluate data set limitations, restrictions or intended use. The originators of this dataset shall not be held liable for improper or incorrect use of the data described and/or contained herein. Potential users of these data should first contact the data authors listed below, as potential...

Collection of photographs taken during PRISM field work on the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge. Photos include those taken of habitat within rapid survey plots (usually taken at the northwest corner of the rapid survey plot boundary), completed datasheets, and by crew members.Directories include ANWR_PRISM_plot_photos, ANWR_PRISM_datasheet_photos, ANWR_PRISM_other_photos.These data do not represent all locations within the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge where specific avian species may be present, as surveys only occurred in discrete survey plots. Additionally, individual birds may have went undetected within survey plots, as detectability was likely less than 100%, and is a function of many variables, including...
The datasets contains include Kegg functional gene data from 133 samples across the panarctic.

This file contains information on avian nests found during this study including species, date and time found, location, status, estimated incubation dates, tiny tag and camera monitoring and retrieval information, and nest fate. Note, that .ttd files viewed using Tinytag Explorer may have assessment times that are off by an hour, as the times displayed by Tinytag Explorer are calculated when the data is displayed and depend on the daylight saving settings of the PC at that time. For example, if a .ttd file is opened before and after DST settings change, then all times displayed by Tinytag Explorer will go forward or back. Also, in 2019 camera date and times were not set correctly prior to deployment. See fields...

We have gathered information on all known recaptures and resightings of marked Dunlin throughout the East-Asian Australasian flyway, as well as opportunistically at other locations. The objectives of this study were to (1) identify regional connectivity patterns within and among subspecies of Dunlin migrating and wintering along the EAAF, (2) examine the regional connectivity patterns of Dunlin of unknown subspecies captured and marked at sites on the nonbreeding grounds, (3) examine recovery patterns of arcticola Dunlin initially captured on the NW and NE portions of their Alaska breeding range, (4) examine recovery patterns of arcticola males and females, (5) examine recovery patterns of arcticola Dunlin of different...

This file includes R code to select annual sampling units for nest survival analysis on the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge using a stratified random sampling approach. We used the Generalized Random Tessellation Stratified (GRTS) procedure (Stevens and Olsen 2004) to obtain a spatially balanced sample of 28 plots in 2019 and 48 in 2022 within two of the four strata. In 2019, plots were equally allocated between wetland and moist strata, with 14 plots allocated to each. In 2022, additional plots were allocated to the moist stratum given the proportional availability on the landscape, with the final allocation being 30 moist plots and 18 wetland plots. We also selected an additional 20 “oversample” plots in each year,...

Landscape Conservation Cooperatives (LCCs) are public-private partnerships composed of states, tribes, federal agencies, non-governmental organizations, universities, international jurisdictions, and others working together to address landscape and seascape scale conservation issues. LCCs inform resource management decisions to address broad-scale stressors-including habitat fragmentation, genetic isolation, spread of invasive species, and water scarcity-all of which are magnified by a rapidly changing climate. For further information go to https://www.fws.gov/science/catalog. The previous 2011 LCC Network Areas data is available at https://www.sciencebase.gov/catalog/item/52f2735ee4b0a6f0bd498c2f

This file includes R code to select annual sampling units for PRISM surveys on the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge using a stratified random sampling approach. We used the Generalized Random Tessellation Stratified (GRTS) procedure (Stevens and Olsen 2004) to obtain a spatially balanced sample of 108 plots within each of the four strata to be surveyed. To determine how to allocate the 108 plots among strata, we initially used shorebird densities and variances (averaged across species) presented in Brown et al. (2007), but adjusted these values to include additional upland and riparian plots. Final allocation included 45 wetland plots, 35 moist plots, 12 upland plots, and 16 riparian plots. We also selected an additional...

This dataset includes a polygon vector shapefile illustrating the location of rapid survey plots surveyed in the Arctic Refuge as part of the Program for Regional and International Shorebird Monitoring (PRISM). This dataset provides the geographical location of survey plots that can be linked to the data collected in the field via the PlotID field. These data do not represent all locations within the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge where specific avian species may be present, as surveys only occurred in discrete survey plots. Additionally, individual birds may have went undetected within survey plots, as detectability was likely less than 100%, and is a function of many variables, including differences in species,...
