2008 - Present Ecosystem History of South Florida's Estuaries Database (ver. 2.0, June 2022)

The 2008 - Present Ecosystem History of South Florida's Estuaries Database contains listings of all sites (modern and core) and modern monitoring site survey information (water chemistry, floral and faunal data, etc.). Three general types of data are contained within this database: 1) Modern Field Data (2008-present), 2) Master list of location information on all modern sites, and 3) Core data - location information. Data are available for modern sites (from 2008 to present) and cores in the general areas of Florida Bay, Biscayne Bay, and the southwest (Florida) coastal mangrove estuaries. Radiocarbon ages measured 2011 to 2021 on corals, shells, and plant fragments pertaining to sea floods of the past 1,000 years on Anegada, British Virgin Islands

This part of the data release provides an updated georeferenced list of radiocarbon ages pertaining to evidence for a catastrophic precolonial sea flood on Anegada, a low Caribbean island perched south of the Puerto Rico Trench. The list contains 64 ages measured on carbonate materials and 3 ages measured on plant fragments. Among the total of 67 ages, 43 are among the 47 ages previously tabulated on page 318 of https://doi.org/10.1130/GES01356.l. The 67 ages exclude those from previous work on deposits attributable to the 1755 Lisbon tsunami (https://doi.org/10.1007/s11069-010-9622-6). Onshore conch heaps noted in 2012 to 2018 that pertain to sea floods of the past 1,000 years on Anegada, British Virgin Islands

This part of the release provides an georeferenced list on the most conspicuous of the onshore heaps of harvested conch shells on Anegada, a low Caribbean island perched south of the Puerto Rico Trench. The list locates 12 conch heaps noted in 2017 in the island's East End: Also listed are radiocarbon ages measured on shells from six of the heaps.

Fished conch shells in modern heaps noted in 2012 to 2018 that were largely reshaped by storm waves offshore Anegada, British Virgin Islands

This part of the data release catalogs 40 offshore conch heaps mapped on airphotos and satellite images. Conch shells harvested around Anegada since the start of European colonization, which began late in the 18th century C.E., have been discarded in piles south of the southeastern part of the island, in the Caribbean Sea. Storm waves have notched some of these heaps and have flattened others. The catalog is based on interpretation of airphotos taken 2002 and of satellite images, accessed on Google Earth, taken in 2011–2019. Some of the offshore heaps were observed by boat in 2012, 2015, 2017, and (or) 2018. Repeat visits provided evidence for beveling during the hurricane season of 2017.

UT-CO Freshwater Mollusks Survey

A study commissioned by the Utah Division of Water Quality and the Colorado Water Quality Control Division. Study was carried out by Utah State University. The overarching goal of the study was to conduct a comprehensive search and synthesis of existing records on the historical and current presence of ammonia-sensitive freshwater mussels (Superfamily Unionoidea) and non-pulmonate snails (Valvatidae, Hydrobiidae) in Utah and Colorado. In addition to these targeted species, other species belonging to Class Bivalvia and freshwater Gastropoda were also included. Strewn conch shells noted in 2008 to 2017 that pertain to sea floods of the past 1,000 years on Anegada, British Virgin Islands

This part of the release provides an updated georeferenced catalog of strewn conch shells pertaining to extreme waves on Anegada, a low Caribbean island perched south of the Puerto Rico Trench. Three of the listed fragments were found whole, lacking any extraction hole from fishing. Others listed each contained a round hole from extraction of the meat in precolonial time. Still others were found too fragmentary to show whether they had been fished. Most of the fished shells listed are from the East End of Anegada. There, the listed shells in the south are near heaps of fished conchs, while the shells in the north rim an area of two hectares or more across which conch shells are strewn.

Fossil locality map of the Healy A-6 Quadrangle, south-central Alaska

This report presents in tabular form a complete listing of faunal and minor floral elements, along with their identification as known to date, for all fossils collected by field party members of the Alaska Division of Geological & Geophysical Surveys (DGGS) during their 1997 and 1998 geological mapping effort in the Healy A-6 Quadrangle. In addition, all known U.S. Geological Survey fossil localities that could be located from previously published maps are also shown on the fossil locality map and listed in the fossil register.
