This data release contains extent shapefiles for 16 hypothetical slope failure scenarios for a landslide complex at Barry Arm, western Prince William Sound, Alaska. The landslide is likely active due to debuttressing from the retreat of Barry Glacier (Dai and others, 2020) and sits above Barry Arm, posing a tsunami risk in the event of slope failure (Barnhart and others, 2021). This dataset represents 740 tributary canyons and/or watersheds adjacent to the Colorado River in Grand Canyon with associated debris flow probabilities from 2004. Also, these data include tributarys canyon and/or watersheds to Glen Canyon and several smaller watersheds in Grand Canyon where debris flow data is currently unavailable. Historic probabilities of debris flow occurrence were estimated by modeling the known frequency distribution with drainage basin parameters observed to control the process by which debris flows initiate and travel to the river. This data release summarizes discrete suspended-sediment concentration (SSC) measurements and continuous estimates of SSC for the Yakima River at Kiona (USGS 12510500) for the period between June 01, 2018 and September 30, 2022. Continuous estimates of SSC were derived primarily through calibrated turbidity records. These data were collected to support a better understanding of how water quality influenced stream metabolism and water stargrass growth in the lower Yakima River.

An extreme flood in 2016 caused widespread culvert blockages and road failures across northern Wisconsin, including extensive damage along steep tributaries and ravines in the Marengo River watershed. This imagery dataset consists of 3-meter resolution, lidar-derived imagery of the Beckley 30 x 60 minute quadrangle in West Virginia, Virginia and Kentucky. The source data used to construct this imagery consists of 1-meter resolution lidar-derived digital elevation models (DEMs). The lidar source data were compiled from different acquisitions published between 2020 and 2022. The data were processed using geographic information systems (GIS) software. The data is projected in WGS 1984 Web Mercator. This representation illustrates the terrain as a hillshade with contrast adjusted to highlight local relief according to a topographic position index (TPI) calculation.

On May 25th, 2014, a 54.5 Mm3 rock avalanche occurred in the West Salt Creek valley in western Colorado following heavy rainfall on top of snow (Coe and others, 2016a). The data in this project includes boulder density in 20-m x 20-m grid cells for the entire West Salt Creek rock avalanche deposit. The grid cells cover 2,154,800 m2, which accounts for nearly the entire surface of the deposit. We estimated boulder density by counting 1-m or larger diameter boulders of sedimentary rock that are visible in high-resolution Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) imagery collected for the area in July of 2014 (Coe and others, 2016b). From September 2019 to October 2020 a stream sediment budget and sediment fingerprinting integrated study was conducted to quantify upland and stream corridor sources of suspended sediment and sediment-bound phosphorus using the Sediment Source Assessment Tool (SedSAT) methods with a suite of trace elements. This work integrated multiple topographic and bathymetric data sources to generate a merged topobathymetric map of western Prince William Sound. We converted all data sources to NAD 83 UTM Zone 6 N and mean higher high water (MHHW) before compiling.
