This dataset consists of points representing selected groundwater monitoring well locations and median groundwater-level altitudes for the water year period 2016-2020 that were used to develop groundwater-level contours in Smith and Mason Valleys, Nevada. Groundwater-level measurements were collected by the USGS and the Nevada Division of Water Resources (NDWR).

This data set consists of lines representing groundwater-level altitude contours, 1982, for Paradise Valley, Humboldt County, Nevada as published on figure 29 in the U.S. Geological Survey Professional Paper 1409-F titled "Ground-water flow and simulated effects of development in Paradise Valley, a basin tributary to the Humboldt River in Humboldt County, Nevada," 1996. A subset of the contours were published in the geospatial data titled "Water-table contours of Nevada," 2006. The remaining contours have been added to complete this data set.

Nevada and northeastern California conifer features were classified from 2010, 2012, and 2013 NAIP Digital Ortho Quarter Quads (DOQQs) using the Feature Analyst 5.0 extension for ArcGIS 10.1. DOQQs were organized and grouped by Nevada Department of Wildlife Population Management Unit (PMU) locations, plus a 10 km area beyond the PMU extent. The polygons in this file represent dissolved boundaries of NAIP DOQQ polygons that were associated with the nearest PMU that they intersected. Many DOQQs had to be assigned to a PMU manually because they occurred beyond the original PMU boundary or fell along the boundary between two or more PMUs. Larger PMUs, such as Monitor and Quinn, were divided into smaller, more manageable,...

This shapefile represents habitat suitability categories (High, Moderate, Low, and Non-Habitat) derived from a composite, continuous surface of sage-grouse habitat suitability index (HSI) values for Nevada and northeastern California formed from the multiplicative product of the spring, summer, and winter HSI surfaces.

This shapefile represents habitat suitability categories (High, Moderate, Low, and Non-Habitat) derived from a composite, continuous surface of sage-grouse habitat suitability index (HSI) values for northeastern California during summer (July to mid-October)¸ which is a surrogate for habitat conditions during the sage-grouse brood-rearing period.

This data set consists of 1:500,000-scale depth-to-water area polygons for the Humboldt River Basin, Nevada as published in the Nevada Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Water Resources Bulletin 32 titled "Hydrologic reconnaissance of the Humboldt River basin, Nevada", 1966.

This polygon represents the areal extent used to estimate groundwater-level and groundwater storage-volume change in Smith Valley and Mason Valley, Nevada. Each groundwater-level dataset used in this study (1970, 1995, 2006, 2020) contained a unique areal extent because the monitoring wells used to create each dataset was different and as a result, the extent of groundwater-level contours differed. Defining a common extent among all datasets was needed to evaluate water-level change and groundwater storage-volume change using a consistent approach.

This dataset includes the magnetotelluric (MT) sounding data collected in 2003 along a north-south profile west of Wendover, Nevada. It is important to know whether major mining districts in the Northern Nevada Gold Province are underlain by rocks of the Archean Wyoming craton, which are known to contain orogenic gold deposits, or by accreted rocks of the Paleoproterozoic Mojave province. It is also important to know the location and orientation of the Archean/Proterozoic suture zone between these provinces as well as major basement structures within these terranes because they may influence subsequent patterns of sedimentation, deformation, magmatism, and hydrothermal activity. This study was funded by the U.S....

This shapefile represents habitat suitability categories (High, Moderate, Low, and Non-Habitat) derived from a composite, continuous surface of sage-grouse habitat suitability index (HSI) values for Nevada and northeastern California during the winter season, and is a surrogate for habitat conditions during periods of cold and snow.

This data set consists of a polygon representing the study area for middle Humboldt River basin, north-central Nevada as published in the U.S. Geological Survey Water-Resources Investigations Report 98-4209 titled "Hydrogeologic framework and ground-water levels, 1982 and 1996, middle Humboldt River basin, north-central Nevada," 1999.

These contours represent static groundwater levels based on depth-to-water measurements in Smith Valley and Mason Valley, Nevada. Groundwater-level contours for Smith Valley were first published by Rush and Schroer (1976) and subsequently published electronically by Welborn and Medina (2022). The Smith Valley groundwater-level contours represent conditions in the spring of 1972. Groundwater-level contours for Mason Valley were first published by Huxel and Harris (1969) and subsequently published electronically by Lopes and others (2006). The Mason Valley groundwater-level contours represent conditions during 1965-1966. The original groundwater-level contours from Smith Valley and Mason Valley (Huxel and Harris,...
