Landscape-level ecological risk for cutthroat trout was based on Aquatic Development Index score, risk of low summer flow, and hybridization risk compiled into an overall index of conservation potential for each fifth-level watershed. To account for different spatial patterns of habitats (mainstems, headwaters, and lakes), we combined area ranks based on stream segment length and number of populations (based on counts of occupied segments and lakes) into an overall risk.

This dataset provides an estimate of water-based recreation travel corridors, based on a combination of wild and scenic rivers, and major rivers selected from NHD that were listed on the BLM rivers website. All reaches of these rivers were selected, as insufficient information exists to determine what segments may or may not be open to recreation. Other areas may be open to water-based recreation travel than are represented in this dataset.

Local Aquatic Development Index (LADI) for wetlands in the Wyoming Basin REA project area. ADI scores are based on a ranked index of combined disturbances assessed at the local catchment (LADI) scale. The LADI quantifies the relative disturbance within a catchment for four disturbance variable classes: transportation (roads and railroads, area and number of crossings), energy and minerals (number of oil and gas wells, number of wind turbines, mine area), water (number of dams, number of surface diversions and length of 303d streams) and land use (agriculture, e.g. pasture and cropland, and urban land covers). This data set contains categorical values based on proximity to cropland for the Prairie Potholes in the Northwestern Plains Ecoregion. This data set contains summed values for input threat datasets. Input threat datasets include: Ratio of perimeter to area of individual wetlands, potential conversion to agriculture, proximity to cropland, proximity to human development, proximity to intensive development, proportion of wetlands on protected lands, size of wetlands, and proportion of wetlands in 5 sq km area. This is a first cut at a statewide 1:63,360 coastline. The entire coasline, however, is not 1:63.360; only where data was available as of January 1998. It is a mixture of sources ranging from the Department of Natural Resources, Land Records Information Section hydrography database to the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill Environmentally Sensitive Index coastline (no ESI attributes included) to the US Geologic Survey hydrography to US Forest Service (in Prince William Sound). Where the 1:63,360 data was unavailable the 1:250,000 coastline was used to fill in. This information does not include lakes or streams. All streams are cut off at the mouth with a straight line. The Vista tool is used to create a Scenario of the CAs affecting the North American Warm Desert Riparian Woodland, Shrubland, Mesquite Bosque and Stream CE and applies user-input Landscape Condition Model (LCM) scores to generate ESAs for each of the CEs. The LCM consists of Site Impact scores and impact Distances for each CA category. Site Impact scores are a value between 0 and 1 representing the impact of the CA on the relevant CEs. A score close to 1 indicates negligible or no impact from that CA. A score close to 0 indicates the highest possible impact, e.g. an interstate highway that makes the area in which it occurs completely unsuitable for the CE. This dataset was created as a way to have standard fish distribution datasets across the various fish species for the study area. This was needed because the original source datasets for fish distributions came from several different sources and were at various scales and also overlapped. To fix the issues in the source datasets we walked the original data over to the NHD Plus hydrography.

This dataset was created as a way to have standard fish distribution datasets across the various fish species for the study area. This was needed because the original source datasets for fish distributions came from several different sources and were at various scales and also overlapped. To fix the issues in the source datasets we walked the original data over to the NHD Plus hydrography.

The National Hydrography Dataset (NHD) and Watershed Boundary Dataset (WBD) are used to portray surface water on The National Map. The NHD represents the drainage network with features such as rivers, streams, canals, lakes, ponds, coastline, dams, and streamgages. The WBD represents drainage basins as enclosed areas in eight different size categories. Both datasets represent the real world at a nominal scale of 1:24,000-scale, which means that one inch of The National Map data equals 2,000 feet on the ground.
