The TIGER/Line Shapefiles are an extract of selected geographic and cartographic information from the Census MAF/TIGER database. The Census MAF/TIGER database represents a seamless national file with no overlaps or gaps between parts. However, each TIGER/Line Shapefile is designed to stand alone as an independent data set or the shapefiles can be combined to cover the whole nation.

This point file was derived from the community footprints for the Central Yukon REA. The points were manually edited and moved from their default position to a location that corresponded with the actual community location based on satellite imagery. The footprint feature class was produced by digitally tracing the built areas from satellite imagery. This was done to represent the actual footprints more accurately than would have been possible from the U.S. Census Bureau’s Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (TIGER) files. TIGER files are geospatial files with information on several political and administrative units. These shapefiles include polygon boundaries of geographic areas and features,...

This dataset represents the planned energy projects that were submitted to the Alaska Energy Authority Renewable Energy Fund Grant Recommendation Program. The dataset contains only projects that are in the "Planned" phase, which can be anywhere from the conceptual design and feasibility phase to nearly completed but not yet functional, and also received funding from the AEA.

This dataset was used in the Northern Great Basin Rapid Ecoregional Assessment by BLM. No changes were made to the data but the dataset selected California and clipped to the ecoregion boundary.

The TIGER/Line shapefiles and related database files (.dbf) are an extract of selected geographic and cartographic information from the U.S. Census Bureau's Master Address File / Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (MAF/TIGER) Database (MTDB). The MTDB represents a seamless national file with no overlaps or gaps between parts, however, each TIGER/Line shapefile is designed to stand alone as an independent data set, or they can be combined to cover the entire nation. States and equivalent entities are the primary governmental divisions of the United States. In addition to the fifty States, the Census Bureau treats the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, and each of the Island Areas (American...

Tribal communities are especially vulnerable to the effects of climate change because of their reliance on the natural environment to sustain traditional activities and their limited resources to respond to climate change impacts. At the same time, tribes have valuable traditional knowledge that can aid regional efforts to address climate change. There were two overarching goals of this project: The first was to build partnerships between South Central Climate Science Center (SC CSC) researchers and tribal communities, linking tribes with climate change tools and resources and developing a model that could be replicated in other regions. The second goal was to document tribal viewpoints on climate change impacts...

The TIGER/Line Files are shapefiles and related database files (.dbf) that are an extract of selected geographic and cartographic information from the U.S. Census Bureau's Master Address File / Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (MAF/TIGER) Database (MTDB). The purpose of this file is to provide the geography for the 2010 Census Blocks along with their 2010 housing unit count and population. Census Blocks are statistical areas bounded on all sides by visible features, such as streets, roads, streams, and railroad tracks, and/or by nonvisible boundaries such as city, town, township, and county limits, and short line-of-sight extensions of streets and roads. Blocks are the smallest geographic...

The MTDB represents a seamless national file with no overlaps or gaps between parts, however, each TIGER/Line File is designed to stand alone as an independent data set, or they can be combined to cover the entire nation. The TIGER/Line Files include both incorporated places (legal entities) and census designated places or CDPs (statistical entities). An incorporated place is established to provide governmental functions for a concentration...

U.S. States (Generalized) represents the fifty states and the District of Columbia of the United States. The Northwest Climate Science Center (NW CSC) Science Agenda outlines the overall science direction for the NW CSC in 2012-2016. It forms an integral part of the NW CSC Strategic Plan for 2012-2016 and was developed with input from cultural and natural resource managers in the Northwest. The Science Agenda guides the NW CSC and its Executive Stakeholder Advisory Committee ( ESAC) in the identification of annual and long-term research priorities to be funded by the NW CSC.

The community footprints for the CYR REA were produced by digitally tracing the built areas from satellite imagery. This was done to represent the actual community footprints more accurately than would have been possible from the U.S. Census Bureau’s Topologically Integrated Geographic Encoding and Referencing (TIGER) files. TIGER files are geospatial files with information on several political and administrative units. These shapefiles include polygon boundaries of geographic areas and features, linear features including roads and hydrography, and point features. The communities in Alaska were released as a polygon shapefile, with each community’s boundary identified. However, there were two major concerns with...
