Defenders staff, contractors and Great Northern Landscape Conservation Cooperative partners will build a portal on the Conservation Registry to visualize landscape scale plans and conservation projects that address the priorities of the program. The portal will integrate with GN LCCs existing project management tool, LC Map, to spatially display plans within the geographic area of the LCC, provide information about the plans, and link to planning documents. services and/or data imports will be programmed to facilitate efficient transfer of project data from LC Map and other agencies and organizations into the Registry. FY2012Objectives: Coordination with Heart of the Rockies (HotR) staff to identify focal area,...

FY2014The Conservation Biology Institute (CBI) will work with the Great Basin to develop a Conservation Planning Atlas (also commonly called gateways) using Data Basin technology (www.databasin.org) to serve the data integration, collaboration and partner engagement needs.Conservation Planning Atlases (CPA) are a customized interface of the Data Basin platform that include special branding, curation of spatial content, direct links to selected sites (e.g., other LCC Conservation Planning Atlas (e.g., nplcc.databasin.org), additional upload capacity if needed, and access to premium analytical tools. The CPA will allow Great Basin LCC staff and stakeholders to integrate spatial information to coordinate and promote...

FY2016Planning scenarios will allow the GBLCC to develop a scenario planning document to visualize multidimensional scenarios. By using a participatory modeling process, the scenarios produced are managementrelevant and will have buyin from all major stakeholders. This management tool is a critical component of successful scenario planning. Using this vendor will allow stakeholders to share scenarios and impact assessments using normal email and social media tools, and allow you to continuously track progress towards process benchmarks

FY2014This project proposes to test the hypothesis that soil fungistasis (suppression of fungal pathogens by soil microbes in carbohydrate-limited soil) and its alleviation through natural carbohydrate augmentation (e.g., cheatgrass litter, leakage from cheatgrass roots) are the principal processes mediating patterns of cheatgrass die-off and recovery in die-off-prone areas. The project team will use laboratory, greenhouse, and field manipulative experiments to examine the effect of soil carbohydrates on cheatgrass disease incidence.
