Airborne electromagnetic (AEM) and magnetic survey data were collected during July and August 2022 over a distance of 3,588.5 line kilometers covering Delaware Bay and surrounding regipons in New Jersey and Delaware. Data were collected as part of the USGS Delaware River Basin Next Generation Water Observing Systems (NGWOS) project to improve understanding of groundwater salinity distributions near Delaware Bay. The survey was primarily funded by the USGS, with partial support through collaboration with the University of Delaware to extend data collection to parts of Rehoboth Bay and Indian River Bay. Maintaining a record of historical shoreline positions is an effective method to monitor national shoreline evolution over time, enabling scientists to identify areas most susceptible to erosion or accretion. This data release includes the airborne magnetic survey data collected from the Iron Mountain-Menominee region of Michigan and Wisconsin. The Mineral Resources Program of the U.S. Geological Survey is tasked with understanding the nation's mineral resources. Precambrian rocks in the region are poorly mapped and understood. Detailed high-resolution airborne magnetic surveys, ground gravity surveys, and limited borehole data are being used to better understand the lithology and structure of both exposed and concealed Precambrian rocks. The primary goal of the airborne magnetic survey is to map lateral variations of magnetization that are related to differences in rock type.

A cells polygon feature class was created by the U. S. Geological Survey (USGS) to illustrate the degree of exploration, type of production, and distribution of production in the State of Indiana. Each cell represents a quarter-mile square of the land surface, and the cells are coded to represent whether the wells included within the cell are predominantly oil-producing, gas-producing, both oil and gas-producing, or the type of production of the wells located within the cell is unknown or dry. Cells were developed as a graphic solution to overcome the problem of displaying proprietary well data. No proprietary data are displayed or included in the cell maps. The data are current as of 2006.

This data release includes chirp seismic-reflection data collected in 2014 aboard the USGS R/V Snavely in San Pablo Bay, part of northern San Francisco Bay. These data were acquired to image the shallow geologic structure, particularly that related to the Hayward and Rodgers Creek Faults. Approximately 200 km of marine seismic-reflection data were collected along primarily northeast and northwest-trending profiles spaced 1-km apart using an Edgetech 512 chirp sub-bottom profiler that was towed alongside the vessel on a sled at the sea surface. Underwater video was collected in March 2014 in the nearshore waters of Faga`alu Bay on the island of Tutuila, American Samoa, as part of the U.S. Geological Survey Coastal and Marine Geology Program's Pacific Coral Reefs Project. This dataset includes 2,119 still images extracted from the video footage every 10 seconds and an Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) shapefile of individual still-image locations with benthic habitat interpretations for each image.

Drainage areas (or watersheds) were calculated for each stream segment in the National Hydrography Dataset High Resolution Plus Beta (NHD HR Plus Beta) using non-end junction points and the provided hydrologically enforced Digital Elevation Model (DEM). The DEM was used to create a flow direction raster. The pour points used were determined from junction points at each stream intersection excluding stream ends (i.e. channel heads are not included). Watershed calculations were automated using the ArcGIS "watershed" tool and then edited manually for accuracy. In western San Diego County (non-desert) there were 39,980 drainage areas calculated. This dataset is associated with potential source rock samples collected from Uzbekistan. Borehole core samples, as well as outcrop samples, were collected by Uzbek GOSCOMGeology and the USGS in 2021 and 2022. Samples were sent to GeoMark Source Rock Lab for Leco total organic carbon content and HAWK pyrolysis analysis. Analysis results include percent carbonate (wt%), Leco TOC (wt%), and HAWK pyrolysis results (S1, S2, S3, Tmax, HI, OI, S2/S3 Conc., S1/TOC oil content, and Production Index).

This data release consists of climate data from the Basin Characterization Model v8 (BCMv8) for the updated Central Valley Hydrologic Model (CVHM2) for water years 1922-2019. The BCMv8 data are available in separate data release titled "The Basin Characterization Model - A regional water balance software package (BCMv8) data release and model archive for hydrologic California, water years 1896-2020". The data were modified by: (1) clipping the data within the modeled area and modeled time frame, and (2) assigning values from the 270-meter BCMv8 grid to the1-mile CVHM2 model grid for the hydrologic variables precipitation and potential evapotranspiration. The U.S. Geological survey has published water and gas chemistry data from geothermal areas in the western United States, which is primarily available as scanned PDF files.
