This data represents the location of marinas and other facilities where power and sail boats can dock in coastal British Columbia. Included in this data are all marinas, coastal fuelling locations for pleasure boats, public wharves and small craft harbours, yacht clubs, fishing lodges and coastal ecotourism lodges with docks.
The British Columbia Marine Conservation Analysis (BCMCA) is a collaborative project assembling and analyzing spatial information about Canada's Pacific Ocean. The overall goal of the BCMCA is to identify marine areas of high conservation value and marine areas important to human use. Results of the project are intended to inform and help advance marine planning initiatives in BC by providing collaborative, peer-reviewed scientific analyses based on the best ecological and socio-economic spatial data at scales relevant to a BC coast-wide analysis.
The Assessment of Existing Information was completed in 2009 with the primary purpose of informing and enabling conservation planning for ACFHP. It includes three components – (1) a representative bibliographic and assessment database, (2) a GIS spatial framework, and (3) a summary document with a description of methods, analyses of results, and recommendations for future work. The results supported the development of priorities for ACFHP’s conservation efforts within its boundaries.
This point layer represents estuaries present within PMEP’s spatial data system. This layer was developed by members of PMEP, based partly on previous estuary inventory efforts as well asthe goals of PMEP. Currently, there are 444 estuaries present in this layer, covering the West Coast of the contiguous United States. Estuaries were included based on their current or future potential to provide habitat for fish species. It is possible that this list will expand or contract over time, as determined by the needs of PMEP.

Conductivity, temperature, and salinity data were collected from two offshore submarine pockmarks, Miami Pockmark and Key Biscayne Pockmark. A series of dives were performed to gather conductivity, temperature, and salinity data using an autonomous underwater vehicle (AUV) with a Conductivity, Temperature and Depth (CDT) instrument. These data were collected between May 5-8, 2016 using a Bluefin B12 AUV equipped with a CDT and an onboard calibrated Kearfott T-24 Inertial Navigation System (INS) aided by a GPS Wide Area Augmentation System (WAAS), 600 kHz RDI Doppler Velocity Log (DVL) and a Valeport sound velocity meter. We summarize available information on Pacific walrus haulouts from available reports, interviews with coastal residents and aviators, and personal observations of the authors. We provide this in the form of a georeferenced database that may be queried and displayed with standard geographic information system and database management software. The database contains 150 records of Pacific walrus haulouts, with a summary of basic characteristics on maximum haulout size, age-sex composition, season of use, and decade of most recent use. Citations to reports are provided as a bibliographic database.

The map area offshore of Tomales Point, California, which is referred to herein as the “Offshore of Tomales Point” map area, is located in northern California, about 60 km north of San Francisco and 110 km south of Point Arena. The map area includes offshore waters, Tomales Point (the north end of the Point Reyes Peninsula), the northern part of Tomales Bay, and coastal lands east of Tomales Bay.
