The Assessment Unit is the fundamental unit used in the National Assessment Project for the assessment of undiscovered oil and gas resources. The Assessment Unit is defined within the context of the higher-level Total Petroleum System. The Assessment Unit is shown herein as a geographic boundary interpreted, defined, and mapped by the geologist responsible for the province and incorporates a set of known or postulated oil and (or) gas accumulations sharing similar geologic, geographic, and temporal properties within the Total Petroleum System, such as source rock, timing, migration pathways, trapping mechanism, and hydrocarbon type. The Assessment Unit boundary is defined geologically as the limits of the geologic...

Cell maps are created by the USGS as a method for illustrating the degree of petroleum exploration, type of production as indicated by final well status, distribution of production and well density in a given area; in this case, covering the SaMiRa project area of interest. Each cell represents a quarter-mile square of the land surface, and the cells are coded to represent whether oil and gas wells included within the cell are predominantly oil-producing, gas-producing, both oil and gas-producing, dry or the type of production of the wells located within the cell is unknown. The well information was initially retrieved from the IHS Energy Enerdeq, which is a proprietary, commercial database containing information...

This dataset includes field data for fishes sampled using set lines deployed quarterly during 2017 and 2018 at Ryer Island, Suisun Bay, California, USA. This data release includes all measured environmental parameters and fish taxa included in the analysis.
Hydraulic fracturing is a treatment method used to stimulate production from oil and gas wells. Hydraulic fracturing involves injection of treatment fluids mixed with propping agents under high pressure into perforated portions of the wellbore. This method causes the reservoir rocks to fracture and the hydraulic fracturing fluids and propping agents to enter the fractures. Subsequently, the injected propping agents remain in the fractures while the oil, gas and(or) water flows back to the well head at the surface. This dataset is a compilation of information on the types and amounts of treatment fluids applied to oil and gas onshore wells that were hydraulically fractured in the United States from 2015 through 2019....

In 2012, US Geological Survey (USGS) and National Oceanic & Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) embarked on an ambitious project to digitize surficial seafloor data from existing National Ocean Service (NOS) smooth sheets in the Gulf of Alaska including numerous bays bordering the Gulf. USGS and NOAA are using the data for the nation-wide usSEABED project that seeks to compile and unify existing seafloor characterization point data into GIS-friendly data using the dbSEABED program (Jenkins, 1997; Reid and others, 2005; Buczkowski and others, 2006; Reid and others, 2006) and for the North Pacific Research Board’s Gulf of Alaska Integrated Ecosystems Research Program (NPRB, GOA-IERP, http://www.nprb.org/gulf-of-alaska-project)...

The data comprise the initial release of landscape disturbance polygons and lines (sites, pipelines and roads) related to natural gas and oil drilling developed prior to the end of 2013 in the 10-county region along the New York - Pennsylvania border. The study area includes the New York Counties of Allegany, Broome, Chemung, Steuben and Tioga, and the Pennsylvania counties of Bradford, McKean, Potter, Susquehanna, and Tioga. The data were collected using high-resolution aerial imagery from the National Agricultural Imagery Program (NAIP) for each available year between 2004 - 2013 within a geographic information system (GIS), along with additional geospatial data on oil and gas drilling permits and locations, administrative...

Reliable estimates of the magnitude and frequency of floods are an important part of the framework for hydraulic-structure design and flood-plain management in Georgia, South Carolina, and North Carolina (study area). Annual peak flows measured at U.S. Geological Survey streamgages were used to compute at-site flood-frequency estimates at those streamgages in the study area based on annual peak-flows records through 2017. Flood-frequency estimates also are needed at ungaged stream locations. A process known as regionalization was used to develop regression equations to estimate the magnitude and frequency of floods at ungaged locations. This model archive provides the inputs and outputs for (1) the at-site flood-frequency...
