Malheur Lake is a shallow, freshwater lake in southeastern Oregon. This data release includes phytoplankton data from three sites located in Malheur Lake collected from 8/8/2018 to 8/11/2020. For each sample collected, the phytoplankton were reported to the lowest taxonomic unit. Phytoplankton biovolume, algal cell concentration, and algal biomass concentration are included. All phytoplankton data were generated by PhycoTech, Inc. The dataset includes two comma-separated values (.csv) files and metadata. The first CSV file includes all of the taxonomic, biovolume, and density information. The second CSV file includes the 111 unique taxa identified.
This data release contains a 17-year record (2005-2022) of discrete chlorophyll data from inland waters, collected from across the nation and territories. These data are from discrete samples (collected in the field and analyzed in the laboratory) from plankton (suspended algae) and periphyton (benthic algae) from lakes, streams, rivers, reservoirs, canals, and other sites. These data are gathered to support process and remote sensing modeling and prediction of Harmful Algal Blooms (HABs). The chlorophyll data were compiled from the Water Quality Portal (WQP) and USGS National Water Quality Lab (NWQL). This data release presents the results of analyses of biota and water samples collected on multiple dates from 2007 to 2014 at 3 locations in Lake Mead National Recreation Area. Data are presented in 3 spreadsheets containing sample analyses for (1) stable isotopes in biota (2007-2014), (2) synthetic organic compounds in biota (2013-2014), and (3) synthetic organic compounds in water (2013-2014)
This data includes information on water quality, zooplankton, and fish sampled in ponds on delta islands in San Joaquin County, California. The islands include Bacon (North and South ponds), Bouldin (East and West ponds), Holland Tract (Middle, North, and South ponds), and Webb Tract (East, Middle, and North ponds). Discrete water quality parameters were measured bimonthly and continuous temperature was recorded every 15 minutes. Zooplankton were sampled monthly using a Schindler-Patalas 12L plankton trap with a 200mL Dolphin bucket with 61 micron stainless mesh. Fish were sampled once at each pond using beach seines, gill nets, and boat electrofishing gear.
