Areas established by the Legislature for management of forest, recreational and historical purposes; to protect and preserve natural habitat for fish and/or wildlife and special restrictions not specifically tied to any of the previously mentioned purposes. This shape file characterizes the geographic representation of land parcels within the State of Alaska contained by the Legislatively Designated Area category. It has been extracted from data sets used to produce the State status plats. This data set includes cases noted on the digital status plats up to one day prior to data extraction. Each feature has an associated attribute record, including a Land Administration System (LAS) file-type and file-number which...

This story map is a part of the General Land Office (GLO) Record of the Week (ROTW) project. Each week, the BLM ES will release a story map as a part of the GLO ROTW Project. This project was initiated by BLM Eastern States to share unique records from the GLO Records collection. This story map features "Batman" themes within GLO patents and surveys.

This project was initiated by BLM Eastern States to share unique records from the GLO Records collection. This story map is about David W. Alexander, an Irish-born businessman who moved to California and became a politician and sheriff in early Los Angeles.
This data set represents the GIS Version of the Public Land Survey System including both rectangular and non-rectangular surveys. The primary source for the data is cadastral survey records housed by the BLM supplemented with local records and geographic control coordinates from states, counties as well as other federal agencies such as the USGS and USFS. The data has been converted from source documents to digital form and transferred into a GIS format that is compliant with FGDC Cadastral Data Content Standards and Guidelines for publication. This data is optimized for data publication and sharing rather than for specific "production" or operation and maintenance. This data set includes the following: PLSS Fully...
Following a methodology developed by Idaho Department of Lands, areas with 100 miles of the ecoregion were examined for urban areas that could be within a two hour drive from areas within the ecoregion. Using the ESRI streetmap road network and speed limit, a cost distance analysis was run to determine areas within two hours of urban areas with populations over 20,000 people within the ecoregion or within 100 miles (estimate two hour drive). The goal was to highlight areas near urban areas where OHV use could take place. Two hours was adopted from the IDL methodology as they found that a four hour round trip was the average maximum day trip people doing recreation would take. http://www.idl.idaho.gov/bureau/ForestAssist/safr/final/061410-ID-SAFR-FINAL.pdf

U.S. Census Urbanized Areas represents the Census 2000 Urbanized Areas (UA) and Urban Clusters (UC). A UA consists of contiguous, densely settled census block groups (BGs) and census blocks that meet minimum population density requirements (1000ppsm /500ppsm), along with adjacent densely settled census blocks that together encompass a population of at least 50,000 people. A UC consists of contiguous, densely settled census BGs and census blocks that meet minimum population density requirements, along with adjacent densely settled census blocks that together encompass a population of at least 2,500 people, but fewer than 50,000 people. The dataset covers the 50 States plus the District of Columbia within United States.

This dataset was digitized by CBI from a single coordinate provided by Jim Weigand (BLM) for the BLM Corn Springs Campground. Additional information on this campground can be found at:http://www.blm.gov/ca/st/en/fo/palmsprings/corn_springs_campground.html
This dataset represents the consolidated submissions for locatable mining claim data from BLM states responding to the WO 300 data call during the time period of November 2011 through May 2012. It is intended solely for use in the GRSG cumulative effects analysis. Source data, their acquisition methods and errors/omission rate vary. All original datasets used to create this dataset are stored in the BLM’s NOC E-GIS file structure. The paths to the original data are stored in this file’s attribute table. See the source data for detailed metadata and error analysis. Processing to develop this dataset: 1. Added a "Source" field to the attribute table of the original submission. 2. Populated the "Source" field with...

This is a layer created from the merged state SMA data in the .GDB submitted by Beth. The following processing steps were applied: - Dissolve SMA from States, GRSG_States to the ADMIN_AGENCY_CD field. Output GRSG_States_dis. - In a new field called ADMIN_AGENCY_CEA (text 16), calculate BIA, BOR, BPA, COE, DOD, DOE, FAA, FWS, GSA, NPS, TRIBAL, USDA, and USGS to "OTHERFED", calculate everything else to "ADMIN_AGENCY_CD" value (correcting errors). - Add ADMIN_AGENCY_CEA field to the FS Administrative Forest final dataset. Calculate all values = "Forest Service". - Update the GRSG_States_dis feature class with the FS Administrative Forest feature class. This will provide the BLM SMA with all of those Forest Service...

Bureau of Land Management,
This dataset was created for the GRSG National Planning Effort from the 2008 BLM Land Health spreadsheet. Sherm Karl edited this spreadsheet to indicate those allotments in which a land health evaluation has not yet been done. These allotments were then joined to the GSSP National Allotment database on 6/28/12. Of the 10623 allotment records from the spreadsheet, 158 were not able to be mapped. Data Assumption notes: Sherm Karl - We can only assume the data are as current as 2007. Additional allotments have been assessed since then, but we do not have this information in a national data set, so we should date this as the 2008 assessment. Also, here are some assumptions I made regarding allotments that have more...
U.S. National Atlas Federal and Indian Land Areas represents the federal- and Indian-owned land areas (for example, Bureau of Indian Affairs, Department of Defense, and Tennessee Valley Authority) of the United States.
U.S. Cities represents locations for cities within United States with populations of 10,000 or greater (based on Census 2000 figures), all state capitals, and the national capital.
This assessment raster is used to answer management questions (MQs) about where the Bighorn Sheep conservation element (CE) overlap with change agents (CAs). This is a basic footprint assessment of anthropogenic features (urban development, roads, etc). It does not model actual response of the CEs to the CAs; those more complex issues are addressed in different MQs and through different models. Areas for restoration/enhancement were indentified base upon the 3 quartile values (50>LC2025

Protected areas were used to determine the amount of human disturbance within the analysis unit for Columbia spotted frog modeled habitat. GAP status 1 and 2 areas were extracted from the USGS protected areas database and used within zonal statistics to determine the amount of the analysis unit within protected areas.> 60 % = good25-60% = moderate
This data set is a complete digital hydrologic unit boundary layer to the Subwatershed (12-digit) 6th level for the entire United States. This data set consists of geo-referenced digital data and associated attributes created in accordance with the "FGDC Proposal, Version 1.0 - Federal Standards For Delineation of Hydrologic Unit Boundaries 3/01/02"(http://www.ftw.nrcs.usda.gov/huc_data.html). Polygons are attributed with hydrologic unit codes for 4th level sub-basins, 5th level watersheds, 6th level subwatersheds, name, size, downstream hydrologic unit, type of watershed, non-contributing areas and flow modification. Arcs are attributed with the highest hydrologic unit code for each watershed, linesource and a...
