The U.S. Geological Survey in cooperation with the Grand River Dam Authority completed a high-resolution multibeam bathymetric survey to compute a new capacity and surface-area table. The capacity and surface-area tables describe the relation between the elevation of the water surface and the volume of water that can be impounded at each given water-surface elevation. The capacity and surface area of Grand Lake O’ the Cherokees were computed from a Triangular Irregular Network (TIN) surface created in Global Mapper Version 21.0.1. The "Broad-scale assessment of biophysical features in Colorado: Terrestrial development index using 5-kilometer moving window" raster dataset quantifies levels of development (urban, agriculture, energy and mineral extraction and transmission, and roads and railroads) for all lands in Colorado. The terrestrial development index (TDI) represents the total percentage of the estimated surface disturbance footprint from development within a 5-kilometer (km) radius moving window. The TDI scores range from 0 to 100 percent. Methods are described in the companion report (see "Larger Work" section).

Areas with high potential for utility-grade wind power were based on wind energy adjusted to 80 m and excluding protected areas and land-cover types unsuitable for wind installations (Elliot et. al. 1986, NREL 2010).
