This project identifies priority areas in the Columbia Plateau Ecoregion to implement conservation strategies for riverine and riparian habitat. This is tailored towards the Arid Lands Initiative (ALI) conservation goals and objectives, and provides the foundation for adaptation to a changing climate. This project adopts a “zoned” approach to identifying focal areas, connectivity management zones and zones for riparian habitat and ecological representation. Through a series of workshops and webinars, the ALI articulated its freshwater conservation goals and targets. Key aspects of these goals included: a focus on non-anadromous salmonid (salmon and steelhead) species, include riparian birds and waterfowl as key...

This layer has been updated in 2016 This shapefile represents the watersheds present within the Crown of the Continent Ecosystem (CCE) boundary.(Note: a different CCE boundary layer was used at the time of creation, so the area amounts within the CCE may not be accurate)This dataset was developed by the Crown Managers Partnership, as part of a transboundary collaborative management initiative for the Crown of the Continent Ecosystem, based on commonly identified management priorities that are relevant at the landscape scale. The CMP is collaborative group of land managers, scientists, and stakeholder in the CCE. For more information on the CMP and its collaborators, programs, and projects please visit: http://crownmanagers.org/

The Crown Managers Partnership (CMP) is developing collaborative management out-comes for three targeted indicators as part of our overall implementation of the Managing for Ecological Integrity Project2. We are strategically focusing on Aquatic Invasive Species Landscape-scale Change, and Climate Change Adaptation, working effectively across jurisdictions; sharing data and utilizing a common science template. Our overall goal is to achieve amplified management out-comes that address these shared conservation threats. Specifically, in the coming year we will advance our management strategies with respect to each of the stressors by; (i) Assimilating on-going work at multiple scales and implement strategic pilot...
This Final Report covers accomplishments for specified objectives and deliverables for a multi-year project (see attached report). We present connectivity map products developed by an ongoing, crossborder collaboration to assess landscape permeability for wildlife in the Okanagan-Kettle subregion. Additionally, we discuss two linkage areas within the subregion where we applied our findings to help inform on-the-ground connectivity conservation planning, and we discuss the application of a Decision Support System (DSS) to inform fine-scale linkage design and monitoring. This Final Report fulfills deliverables for USFWS GNLCC contractual agreement number F14AP01039.

This dataset is one of a dozen or so datasets that provide the basis for a vulnerability assessment of the Great Northern LCC that examines land use and climate changes at landscape scales, for the full LCC boundary. It provides a measure of vulnerability based on temperature change using a watershed-based analysis. The values range from 0 to 1 and are unitless, where Vtw = Et x (1-Aw). The original floating point values ranging from 0-1.0 were multiplied by 100 and converted to integer format for this dataset.

This dataset is one of a dozen or so datasets that provide the basis for a vulnerability assessment of the Great Northern LCC that examines land use and climate changes at landscape scales, for the full LCC boundary. It provides a measure of vulnerability based on biome velocity and using a terrestrial (moving window) anlaysis. The values range from 0 to 1 and are unitless, where Vhg = Eh x (1-Ag). The original floating point values ranging from 0-1.0 were multiplied by 100 and converted to integer format for this dataset.
Heart of the Rockies Initiative has been diligently applying a Landscape Conservation Design process with full stakeholder engagement to articulate a stakeholder defined conservation vision for the High Divide landscape and to develop plans and strategies to achieve that vision. Our progress to-date includes: completion of the socio-economic data from Headwaters Economics, including a spatial build-out analysis of most of the counties in the project area. initiated the process to build cross-boundary habitat models with Idaho Dept. of Fish and Game and Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks that combine broad-scale habitat and connectivity models with high resolution GPS data identification, gathering and processing...

The Great Northern Landscape Conservation Cooperative (GNLCC) is a new enterprise, comprising agencies and organizations working together across landscapes and through science-management partnerships called Landscape Conservation Cooperatives. The intent to the GNLCC is to assist governments and interested organizations in conserving habitats that ensure the long-term resiliency of ecosystems that sustain priority species and maintain viable populations and habitats in the face of climate change and other threats.
