This map shows Census boundaries and other features on a simple, mostly white basemap. The map displays the 2009 TIGER data. This map is designed to complement colorful basemaps and thematic layers, such as Census demographics. It is intended for census experts and the general public alike. This map contains a data layer that depicts the simplified boundaries of lands and waters administered by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) in North America, U.S. Trust Territories and Possessions. It includes only lands that are held by fee or secondary title by USFWS. The primary source for this information is the USFWS Realty program. In response to the Nisqually earthquake of 2001, DGER was awarded a grant by the Federal Emergency Management Agency and Washington Emergency Management Division to develop two types of earthquake hazard maps for every county in the state—liquefaction susceptibility maps, which outline areas where water-saturated sandy soil loses strength during earthquake shaking, and NEHRP (National Earthquake Hazards Reduction Program) site class maps, which outline areas where soils amplify ground shaking. The maps will be used by state and local governments to update existing hazard mitigation plans and to delineate geologically hazardous areas under the Growth Management Act. In response to the Nisqually earthquake of...
This map service is an information surface which displays what percentage of the soil map unit is subject to water being ponded on the soil surface. Each soil map unit polygon falls into one of the following classes according to NRCS: 0-14%, 15-49%, 50-74% or 75-100%. Esri is providing NRCS SSURGO content here without modification except for some cartography and publishing necessary to facilitate esri user access to these data. Of course, esri will continue to update this inform This map service is an information surface which displays what percentage of the soil map unit is subject to water being ponded on the soil surface. Montana Population in persons per square mile from the 2000 Census. This data is a smoothed-over representation of Montana's population density surface, designed to emphasize small areas with high population density. It was derived from U.S. Census Bureau 2000 TIGER files and population counts. The original data was resampled to a 100-meter grid, smoothed, and the highest resulting density of the 100-meter cells in each 1-kilometer grid cell was assigned to the cell. When comparing this data set to the similar data set available from NRIS for the 1990 Census, it is important to realize that the change of population density at a location is likely to be the result of a change in the configuration of the Census...

This layer represents areas which have been proposed (per the requirements of Section 368 of the Energy Policy Act of 2005) as West-wide energy corridors for the final "Programmatic Environmental Impact Statement, Designation of Energy Corridors on Federal Land in the 11 Western States", November 2008. The layer was intersected with surface management agency, BLM field office, and state layers to add more tabular attributes.

This dataset was created by overlaying connectivity model outputs for grizzly bear, black bear, lynx, wolverine, forest specialist species, and forest biome dwellers where they intersect the region’s major roads. It was used in conjunction with future traffic volume projections to identify priority sites for mitigating road impacts on wildlife. This project investigated the potential impacts of future housing development on traffic to determine where increased traffic from housing development will impact habitat connectivity for large carnivores. The focus of this study was Flathead and Lincoln counties in northwestern Montana. The main goal was to maintain wildlife habitat connectivity across transportation corridors...

This layer provides information on putative winter corridors facilitating dispersal from northern populations to patches capable of supporting Canada lynx in the Northern Rocky Mountains. These results combine resource selection, step selection, and least-cost path models to define movement corridors for lynx in the Northern Rocky Mountains. The illustrated corridors were created by using a one-mile buffer around the putative winter corridors facilitating dispersal from northern populations to patches capable of supporting Canada lynx in the Northern Rocky Mountains
