The DGS’s U.S. Atlantic Outer Continental Shelf Sample and Data Repository holds all the remaining geological samples from the 5 stratigraphic test wells and 46 industry wells drilled on the U.S. Atlantic OCS between 1975 and 1984. The collection includes core (conventional and sidewall) and cuttings samples, prepared sample materials, biostratigraphic slides and thin sections, paper and digitized geophysical logs, and microfilm records. NGGDPP funds have allowed critical preservation work on parts of the collection. A comprehensive inventory is available.
