This dataset represents the relative average amount of non-woody cover within 2 ha) of bottomland along the Colorado River from the Colorado state line (San Juan and Grand Counties, Utah) to the southern Canyonlands NP boundary, as of September 2010. Traditional image interpretation cues were used to develop the polygons, such as shape, size, pattern, tone, texture, color, and shadow, from high resolution, true color, aerial imagery (0.3m resolution), acquired for the project. We used the 1981 historical imagery of the Escalante River, Utah in ArcGIS to quantify channel area and average width and quantify woody riparian vegetation cover in two reaches of the river. Reach 1 was approximately 15 river kilometers (rkms) long and located between Sand and Boulder creeks within Grand Staircase Escalante National Monument. Reach 2 was approximately 16 rkms in length, extending from the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area boundary to just upstream of Choprock Canyon. We delineated the extent of active channel. In 30 surveys, we mapped 21,486 birds comprising 88 species “interact with” the intertidal habitat. Each full “survey” represents a unique month-year-tide combination (but not necessarily a unique day). Specifically, for each of 15 months between January 2012 and March 2013 we conducted separate, but temporally adjacent high-tide and low-tide bird surveys (30 in total) throughout the intertidal habitats. Back to back surveys within the same month are not meant to be independent measures of bird abundance and should be averaged to get an idea of bird abundance in a particular month. This shapefile contains sub-indices comprised of various anthropogenic land use/covers respresentative of the risk of potential habitat degradation to streams within the state of Hawaii. This file is an updated version of 'nfhap_hci_hawaii.shp' and incorporates the suggestion from the Hawaii Fish Habitat Partnership of removing trails and paths from the road network to help better represent amounts of disturbance in remote areas such as the Na Pali coast. Subindices are summarized for local and network catchments specific to perennial stream reaches throughout the state. New active-source shallow seismic (shear-wave and acoustic-wave) measurements were obtained at 18 prioritized seismic monitoring station locations in the north San Francisco Bay area to measure site-specific ground motion amplification effects, soil depth, depth to bedrock (Z1.0 Vs=1 km/s), calculate site specific velocity-depth profiles and Vs30, and develop NEHRP site classifications for each location. The Okinawa cluster is named for the island of Okinawa in the Ryukyu Islands. Although there are deeper events in the area, only events with depths less than about 35 km were retained in the cluster. The cluster contains one large event, an Ms 6.5 event on March 2, 1980 to the west of the island that is likely associated with back-arc spreading. All events have depth constraint from arrivals at near- or local-distances, or from teleseismic depth phases in a few cases. Although the setting is broadly oceanic, the Ryukyu Islands are thought to be part of a remannt continental sliver, so it is not so surprising that a crustal model very close to ak135 fits the observed arrival time data well. ...

The Siah Kuh cluster is named after the village of Siah Kuh (Black Mountain) in Gilan Province, Iran. It consists of only 16 events, the largest being the M4.3 event on September 5, 2005. There's a fairly large azimuthal gap to the east, but the cluster is well calibrated at a level of 1.4 km by using data up to 1.6 degrees. Focal depths of almost all events are constrained with local-distance readings, except for the oldest event in the cluster (January 6, 2005) which is set to a default of 11 km. The Hakodate cluster is named for the city of Hakodate at the south end the island of Hokkaido, Japan. The cluster extends southward to the northern tip of Honshu. Over half the events in the cluster are associated with an earthquake swarm in late March 2000 on the southern flank of Mt. Usu, an active volcano in southern Hokkaido. The “Biophysical assessment for indemnity selection of federal lands in Colorado: Indemnity Unit locations” dataset delineates the spatial locations of 89 Indemnity Units, comprising 339 parcels of federal lands. These lands, currently managed by the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), are under consideration for transfer of ownership to the State of Colorado in compensation for federal lands not available for transfer at the time of statehood. The Ahel cluster is named for the village of Ahel in Fars Province, Iran. This cluster consists of 184 events including the October 31, 1956 Gowdeh earthquake (Magnitude 6.6) and fourteen more older events prior to 1980. Calibration is greatly aided by data from a temporary network deployed by Farzam Yamini-Fard (IIEES). A.R. Ghods (IASBS) repicked many of the arrival times from Iranian networks, including S-P data from the INSM network of accelerometers (BHRC). Focal depths of 23 events are constrained with near-source data, 15 are set by local-distance data, and reminder are fixed to a cluster default of 12 km.
