The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) Geologic Sections dataset consists of site-specific, large-scale geologic cross-sections (composite sheets). These sections were acquired from VDOT in order to save them from disposal. There are 5,500 geological profiles created for highway construction projects containing extensive core, auger and split-spoon logs at scales of 1:50 and 1:100 providing a unique record of subsurface geological and geotechnical data along roadways throughout Virginia. The thousands of feet of vertical subsurface data represents millions of dollars of investment in data acquisition by VDOT. The Daggs Tank 7.5-minute Quadrangle is located approximately 40 miles (60 km) northwest of downtown Phoenix on the east side of Hassayampa Plain. Much of the map area consists of the western piedmont of the White Tank Mountains, but the western third of the map area is dominated by deposits of the south-flowing Hassayampa River, a major regional drainage in central Arizona. The surficial geology depicted in this map is modified from Field and Pearthree (1991b), and includes new field mapping and aerial photograph interpretation using high-resolution digital images provided by Maricopa County. This study area consists of a 10-km inland buffer of the U. S. Great Lakes shoreline. Islands within the lakes were included in this invasive Phragmites mapping project where remotely sensed imagery scenes were available.

These files were used to construct corridors estimating the extent of new coastal corridors exposed by reduced lake levels. They are included here to show the available horizontal extent of lidar-derived topo-bathymetric data and thus explicitly identify gaps and limitations of predicted corridor extents under various reduced lake level scenarios. This data layer summarizes ecological systems and land cover classes described in state-level and national-level maps as Broadly Defined Habitats for groups of species of conservation concern. Each grid cell in the raster is assigned a Condition Index value based on desired condition metrics using ancillary datasets and a decision tree approach for each assessed habitat. Grid cells are also assigned bar code descriptors indicating which metrics contributed to the Condition Index score for that cell. This dataset presents measures of landscape fragmentation calculated by FRAGSTATS at 4KM and HUC5 reporting unit levels. Fragmentation integrates the influence of urban, agriculture, invasive vegetation, roads, pipelines, utility lines, oil/gas wells, and water on patches of natural vegetation.
This map shows the current and historic distribution of this ecosystem, in the context of change agents and disturbance types, as well as current and near-term status and long term potential for change.
