This raster represents a continuous surface of sage-grouse habitat suitability index (HSI,created using ArcGIS 10.2.2) values for Nevada during the breeding season.
This part of DS 781 presents 2-m-resolution data for the acoustic-backscatter map of the Offshore of Point Conception Map Area, California. The GeoTiff is included in "Backscatter_OffshorePointConception.zip," which is accessible from https://doi.org/10.5066/F7QN64XQ. This acoustic-backscatter map of the Offshore of Point Conception map area in southern California was generated from acoustic-backscatter data collected by Fugro Pelagos Inc. Acoustic mapping was completed in 2008 using a combination of 400-kHz Reson 7125, 240-kHz Reson 8101, and 100-kHz Reson 8111 multibeam echosounders. These acoustic-backscatter data cover the area from about the 10-m isobath to beyond the limit of California’s State Waters.
These data represent land cover and land use for the Crown of the Continent Ecosystem. The data are a compilation from multiple sources [Multi-Resolution Land Characteristics (MRLC) Consortium, Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC), and the Canadian Forest Service (CFS)], Canadian data are circa 2000, US are circa 2001. VALUE: 0 = NoData; 20 = Water; 30 = Barren; 31 = Ice/Snow; 34 = Developed; 50 = Scrub/Shrub; 80 = Wetland; 110 = Grassland; 120 = Agriculture; 210 = Coniferous; 220 = Deciduous; 230 = Mixed. We used NLCD 2011, SSURGO, and SEGAP data to map the density of desired resources for open pine ecosystems and six focal species of birds and 2 reptiles within the historic range of longleaf pine east of the Mississippi River. Binary rasters were created of sites with desired characteristics such as land form, hydrology, land use and land cover, soils, potential habitat for focal species, and putative source populations of focal species. Each raster was smoothed using a kernel density estimator. Rasters were combined and scaled to map priority locations for the management of each focal species. This raster depicts the percentage of lithological sodium oxide (Na2O) content in surface or near surface geology. We derived these rasters by calculating the average percent Na2O content for each map unit in combined surficial-bedrock geologic maps. We used state geologic maps (Preliminary Integrated Geologic Map Databases for the United States, Open File Reports 2004-1355, 2005-1305, 2005-1323, 2005-1324, 2005-1325, 2005-1351, and 2006-1272), which depict surficial geology instead of bedrock when the surficial layers are sufficiently deep.
