Landscape conservation cooperatives (LCCs) are conservation-science partnerships between the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), and other federal agencies, states, tribes, NGOs, universities and stakeholders within a geographically defined area. They inform resource management decisions to address national-scale stressors-including habitat fragmentation, genetic isolation, spread of invasive species, and water scarcity-all of which are accelerated by climate change.

This map shows the channel boundary (2011) of the Colorado River mainstem between the Utah Colorado border and the upper pool of Lake Powell, Utah (146 miles). The channel boundary was mapped from public available NAIP imagery flown on June 28, 2011, when the river flow was 886 m3/s at the Cisco gage. The channel is subdivided into channel types: fast water (main channel, secondary channel), and still water types (backwater, isolated pool and tributary channel).

The Kaki cluster is based on the Mw 6.2 mainshock on April 9, 2013, a few tens of km southeast of Bushehr in southern Iran. It's named after a village near the epicenter. The 2013 sequence, including one foreshock and aftershocks through the end of the year, comprises over half of the cluster. Arrival time readings from a temporary seismic network deployed by F. Yamini-Fard (IIEES) to monitor aftershocks are of critical importance to calibrating this cluster. The calibration of this cluster is done by both with direct and indirect technique; near-distance readings up to 0.4 degrees are used for the direct calibration and 18 well calibrated events located by the temporary seismic networks are used for indirect calibration....

The Kobe cluster is named for the city of Kobe, Japan. The cluster is based on the Ms 6.9 earthquake on January 16, 1995 and its aftershocks but it includes more recent events as well. Fitting the pattern of arrivals at local distances required an unusually low crustal P velocity. Number of events: 60 Calibration type: direct calibration using data to 1.0 degrees; hypocentroid calibration level = 0.6 km Epicentral calibration range: 1 - 1 km Date range: 19950116 - 20140805 Latitude range: 34.107 - 35.158 Longitude range: 134.672 - 135.802 Depth range: 14.0 - 22.0 Magnitude range: 3.5...

The Samaria cluster is named for the old community of Samaria, Idaho and the Samaria Mountains in southeastern Idaho. The cluster straddles the border with Utah. It contains one large earthquake, an M6.1 event on March 28, 1975, but none of the other events exceeds 4.6 in magnitude. The M6.1 (USGS) earthquake is often referred to as the Pocatello Valley earthquake. About half of the events are from the 1970s and the quality and quantity of arrival time data are poorer than for modern events; in particular they have few S readings. Focal depths are established by free depth relocation but they are rather unstable and the uncertainties are larger than usual. Depths span a large range, roughly from zero to 20 km,...

The Zahle cluster is named for the city of Zahle, Lebanon, but it covers most of the country and includes some offshore events as well. Most events are small and there are few arrival time data beyond ~30° epicentral distance. The distribution of stations is quite good and the calibration analysis is robust. All events have depth constraint. Depths range through most of the crust. Number of events: 69 Calibration type: direct calibration using data to 0.7 degrees; hypocentroid calibration level = 1.0 km Epicentral calibration range: 1 - 3 km Date range: 19950423 - 20180107 Latitude range: ...

Forest- Data collected once using GIS prior to fish sampling. Our approach was to focus the study on smaller, headwater catchments because larger streams drained areas containing both hemlock and mixed hardwood forest, making forest-specific comparison intractable. In addition, most of these larger watersheds were impacted by humans (e.g., impoundments, agriculture, quarries) that could confound our assessment of the influence of hemlock. Even after limiting the study to headwater catchments, other possible confounding factors remained; we controlled for landscape variability (i.e., terrain and stream size) through the sampling design and we excluded others (i.e., minimum catchment area, beaver activity) through...

Raw data were collected in Shenandoah National Park during summer 2012. Air and temperature data were collected using temperature loggers at several stations throughout the park. These data were used in the publication of the manuscript "Accounting for groundwater influence on headwater stream thermal sensitivity to climate change" through the journal Ecological Applications. Water temperature data were collected at all 78 reach locations during the summer of 2012 (23 June–7 September). Temperature was measured every hour with a logger.

The Baskale cluster is named for the city of Baskale in southeastern Turkey, near the border with Iran. The cluster is a bit small in number and includes only one event larger than magnitude 5 (5.4 mb on January 25, 2005), but the location calibration is quite good. All events are recorded to teleseismic distances and all have depth constraint from near-source or local-distance readings. Number of events: 27 Calibration type: direct calibration using data to 1.0 degrees; hypocentroid calibration level = 1.5 km Epicentral calibration range: 2 - 3 km Date range: 20050125 - 20201220 Latitude...

Statistical analyses and maps representing mean, high, and low water-level conditions in the surface water and groundwater of Miami-Dade County were made by the U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the Miami-Dade County Department of Regulatory and Economic Resources, to help inform decisions necessary for urban planning and development. Sixteen maps were created that show contours of (1) the mean of daily water levels at each site during October and May for the 2000-2009 water years; (2) the 25th, 50th, and 75th percentiles of the daily water levels at each site during October and May and for all months during 2000-2009; and (3) the differences between mean October and May water levels, as well as the differences...

The U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the Puerto Rico Electric Power Authority, completed a hydrologic and hydraulic analysis to assess the potential hazard to human life and property associated with the hypothetical failure of the Lago El Guineo Dam. The Lago El Guineo Dam is within the headwaters of the Río Grande de Manatí and impounds a drainage area of about 4.25 square kilometers. This geospatial dataset in shapefile format, guineo_24hr_pmp.shp, contains the maximum inundation limits resulting from hypothetical dam failure of the Lago El Guineo Dam, under a 24-hour probable maximum precipitation recurrence rainfall event.

This dataset is a point shapefile containing water-depth points collected during a sedimention survey of Lago Guayabal conducted during the period December 11- December 14, 2017 by the Puerto Rico office of the Caribbean-Florida Water Science Center of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS). The goals of the survey were to determine reservoir infill sedimentation rates, generate a bathymetric map of the reservoir, and create a stage-volume relation. More than 270,000 water-depth points were surveyed along 60 navigation lines used in previous sedimentation surveys (Soler-Lopez, 2003, 2007, 2008). All water-depth data were collected using a Teledyne-Odom Echotrac CVM depth sounder coupled to a Global Positioning System...

This data set contains links that are important to each species' habitat network. Those important links are scored based on the percent currently under protection status, projected change in climate suitability by the middle of the 21st century, and projected change in percent urbanized by the middle of the 21st century. Important links were identified from all links in the networks of each species based on their Integral Index of Connectivity (dIIC). Any links with dIIC scores > 0.9 or which connected to nodes with dIIC > 0.9 were retained here as "important" links.
