The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the New Mexico Water Resources Research Institute (WRRI), identified basin characteristics and estimated mean annual streamflow for a regional study of 169 USGS surface-water streamgages throughout the state of New Mexico and adjacent states. The basin characteristics and mean annual streamflows presented here will be used to derive equations for estimating mean annual streamflow at ungaged locations in New Mexico. The accompanying directories contain basin characteristics computation methods and results, and mean annual streamflow at streamgages. Using a Geographic Information System (GIS), surface-water streamgages were selected based on their location in...

This U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) data release presents the geospatial data used to assess the hydrologic and soil resources and the potential effects from grazing, infrastructure, and land-management decisions in the Bureau of Land Management Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks National Monument, New Mexico. Publicly available and previously unpublished data were used to assess these resources and effects and to identify data gaps in the Organ Mountains-Desert Peaks National Monument area. Data created from already published data such as landform, infiltration, geology, and grazing potential coverages are also included in this data release. These data support the following publication: Blake, J.M., Mitchell, A.C.,...

This data table includes the data source, identifiers for sampled wells, properties in the vicinity of San Juan Coal Mine where wells are located, sampling date, and results of groundwater chemistry analyses for arsenic, calcium, chloride, sodium, sulfate, sulfide and dissolved solids in milligrams per liter.
This dataset represents the network-adjusted results of relative- and absolute-gravity surveys. Relative-gravity surveys were carried out using a Zero Length Spring, Inc. relative-gravity meter. The effect of solid Earth tides and ocean loading were removed from the data. Instrument drift was removed by evaluating gravity change during repeated measurements at one or more base stations. Absolute-gravity surveys were carried out using a Micro-g LaCoste, Inc. A-10 absolute-gravity meter. Vertical gradients between the different measuring heights of the absolute- and relative-gravity meters were measured using a relative-gravity meter and tripod, and used to correlate the measurements between the two instruments. Relative-gravity...

This data release is comprised of data compiled during the construction of monitoring wells at four sentinel well sites: Trumbull, Cesar Chavez, Southern, and VA. These wells are located in southeastern Albuquerque, New Mexico (Figures 1 and 2). Between March 2013 and April 2016, the United States Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority and the U.S. Air Force Civil Engineer Center, installed 22 wells at four sites on and near Kirtland Air Force Base (KAFB). The wells, installed in response to an aviation fuel spill that was discovered in 1999 at the Bulk Fuels Facility (BFF) on KAFB, were screened at varying depths in order to characterize the aquifer...

This U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) data release contains results from the 2018 geomorphic survey of North Fork Eagle Creek, New Mexico. The 2018 geomorphic survey was conducted by the USGS, in cooperation with the Village of Ruidoso, New Mexico, and is the second in a planned series of five annual geomorphic surveys of the stream reach located between the North Fork Eagle Creek near Alto, New Mexico, streamflow-gaging station (USGS site 08387550) and the Eagle Creek below South Fork near Alto, New Mexico, streamflow-gaging station (USGS site 08387600). Specifically, this data release includes the results from 14 cross-section surveys (including locations and elevations of all cross-section points), the locations...

This U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) data release contains the results from the 2017 geomorphic survey of North Fork Eagle Creek, New Mexico. The 2017 geomorphic survey was conducted by the USGS, in cooperation with the Village of Ruidoso, New Mexico, and is the first in a planned series of five annual geomorphic surveys of the stream reach located between the North Fork Eagle Creek near Alto, New Mexico, streamflow-gaging station (USGS site 08387550) and the Eagle Creek below South Fork near Alto, New Mexico, streamflow-gaging station (USGS site 08387600). Specifically, this data release contains the results from 14 cross-section surveys (to include x-y-z coordinates of all cross-section points), the locations of...

This data release contains inputs for and outputs from hydrologic simulations of the Upper Rio Hondo Subbasin, New Mexico using the Precipitation-Runoff Modeling System (PRMS). Input data for the entire Upper Rio Hondo Subbasin were developed, but output data only from the North Fork Eagle Creek subwatershed were used. Input data include parameter files for two PRMS models calibrated to prefire conditions and postfire conditions. Synthetic flow data used to calibrate PRMS for prefire conditions and postfire conditions are also included. Output data include output variable files for four PRMS models: two calibrated models (one for prefire conditions and one for postfire conditions) and two models used for scenarios...

This data release contains six historical and projected production well pumping scenarios from January 1, 1900 through March 15, 2141 for the Middle Rio Grande Basin, Albuquerque and vicinity, New Mexico. The production well pumping rates and source of these rates are included as tabular files. Tabular files are also included that define the time period over which these rates are applicable, and the location (layer, row, and column) of each well within the Middle Rio Grande Basin groundwater-flow model of McAda and Barroll (2002). This data release also includes tabular files summarizing historical metered production well pumping, and return-flow credit accounting used to estimate future pumping by the City of Rio...

This U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) data release contains results from the 2020 and 2021 geomorphic survey of North Fork Eagle Creek, New Mexico. Both geomorphic surveys were conducted by the USGS, in cooperation with the Village of Ruidoso, New Mexico, and are the last set of surveys in a planned series of five annual geomorphic surveys of the stream reach located between the North Fork Eagle Creek near Alto, New Mexico, streamflow-gaging station (USGS site 08387550) and the Eagle Creek below South Fork near Alto, New Mexico, streamflow-gaging station (USGS site 08387600). Specifically, there are two data release files, one each for the 2020 and 2021 surveys, that include the results from 14 cross-section surveys...
