This dataset consists of Structure-from-Motion (SfM) - derived point clouds and highly detailed orthomosaic images of four roadcut exposures covering the upper part of the Harrell Shale, the full Brallier Formation, the full Foreknobs Formation, and the lower part of the Hampshire Formation at Baker, West Virginia. For each roadcut exposure, two datasets are published: an orthomosaic raster image and a point cloud. The orthomosaic raster image is a vertical outcrop orthomosaic constructed from multiple orthophotos to create a geometrically rectified image. This facilitates a detailed visual inspection of the stratigraphic succession outside of a GIS environment, unlike georefrenced orthomosaics derived from aerial...

These data were compiled as part of a long-term (1964 - 2022) water quality monitoring program at Lake Powell. Objectives of our study were to release a consistent record of long-term water quality data. The 58-year limnology dataset captures some water quality parameters (temperature, salinity, major ions, total suspended solids) from reservoir filling to present day. It also contains a 38-year record of secchi depth, and a ~30-year record of nutrients, phytoplankton, and zooplankton assemblages. The data were collected from various sites within the Lake Powell reservoir and the Glen Canyon dam. Regular monthly sampling occurred at three sites near the dam and reservoir-wide sampling was generally conducted quarterly,...

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), in cooperation with the Oklahoma Water Resources Board (OWRB), constructed a finite-difference numerical groundwater-flow model of the Boone and Roubidoux aquifers in northeastern Oklahoma by using MODFLOW-NWT (version 1.1.4) with the Newton formulation solver to simulate groundwater flow and account for the drying and rewetting of cells within the groundwater-flow model. The numerical groundwater-flow model was discretized into four layers consisting of 354 rows by 261 columns with a 2,000-feet by 2,000-feet cell size. The model layers were used to simulate the Western Interior Plains confining system, the Boone aquifer, the Ozark confining unit, and the Roubidoux aquifer. The...

This data release is a polygon shapefile representing prospective occurrence regions of ferromanganese crusts and abyssal ferromanganese nodules on the seafloor throughout the global oceans. Polygons represent areas where oceanographic criteria, such as low sedimentation rate and moderate primary productivity, overlap with geologic criteria, including regions with appropriate seafloor morphology for each mineral type, such as seamounts and ridges or abyssal plains. The regions indicate where ferromanganese crusts and abyssal ferromanganese nodules are likely to occur but do not indicate whether minerals have been found in these regions, nor do they indicate the presence of a mineral deposit.
