Airborne radiometric data are provided here as part of the data release "Airborne magnetic and radiometric survey, Columbia, South Carolina and surrounds, 2020." This website includes the processed aeroradiometric data (gamma spectrometry for K, U and Th) provided in an ascii .csv file, spectral data in a binary netcdf file that can be read using the relevant Python libraries (see example included with this release), and a geoTIFF showing a ternary image of the K, Th, and U channels. The contractor report is available on the parent page. These data were collected as part of a high-resolution airborne magnetic and radiometric survey over Columbia, South Carolina and the surrounding region immediately northwest...

This part of DS 781 presents data for the depth-to-transition map of the Point Sur to Point Arguello, California, region. The raster data file is included in the “DepthToTransition_PointSurToPointArguello.zip,” which is accessible from https://doi.org/10.5066/P97CZ0T7. As part of the USGS's California State Waters Mapping Project, a 50-m grid of sediment thickness for the seafloor within the 3-nautical mile limit between Point Sur and Point Arguello was generated from seismic-reflection data collected between 2008 and 2014, and supplemented with geologic structure (fault and fold) information following the methodology of Wong (2012). Water depths determined from bathymetry data were added to the sediment thickness...

In 2015 the U.S. Geological Survey, Pacific Coastal and Marine Science Center, in cooperation with the Alaska Department of Fish and Game (ADFG), collected bathymetry and acoustic-backscatter data near Cross Sound in southeast Alaska using a Reson 7111 multibeam echosounder mounded to the ADFG R/V Solstice. This section of the data release provides the bathymetry data as a GeoTIFF at 10-m spatial resolution. All files have accompanying FGDC metadata.

This portion of the USGS data release presents acoustic-backscatter data collected during surveys performed in Floras Lake, Oregon in June 2018 (USGS Field Activity Number 2018-636-FA). Lake bed backscatter data were collected using a personal watercraft (PWC) equipped with a sidescan sonar system and global navigation satellite system (GNSS) receivers. The sonar system consisted of a Tritech Starfish 990F with a 1-MHz transducer and a 0.3-degree horizontal beam width. Output from the GNSS receivers and sonar system were combined in real time on the PWC by a computer running HYPACK hydrographic survey software. Navigation information was displayed on a video monitor, allowing PWC operators to navigate along survey...

In cooperation with the South Carolina Department of Transportation, the U.S. Geological Survey calculated four land cover basin characteristics rasters from the National Land Cover Database (NLCD) 2019 as part of updating the South Carolina StreamStats application. These datasets are raster representations of impervious surface, developed, forested, and storage land cover attributes within the South Carolina StreamStats study area, and will be served in the South Carolina StreamStats application (https://www.usgs.gov/streamstats) to describe delineated watersheds. The StreamStats application provides access to spatial analytical tools that are useful for water-resources planning and management, and for engineering...

The Middle Fork Willamette River basin encompasses 3,548 square kilometers of western Oregon and drains to the mainstem Willamette River. Fall Creek basin encompasses 653 square kilometers and drains to the Middle Fork Willamette River. In cooperation with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, the U.S. Geological Survey evaluated geomorphic responses of downstream river corridors to annual drawdowns to streambed at Fall Creek Lake. This study of geomorphic change is focused on the major alluvial channel segments downstream of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers’ dams on Fall Creek and the Middle Fork Willamette River, as well as the 736 hectare Fall Creek Lake. Reservoir erosion during streambed drawdown results in sediment...

This part of DS 781 presents data for the bathymetry map of Offshore of Aptos map area, California. Bathymetry data are provided as two separate grids depending on mapping agency and processing method. This metadata file refers to the data included in "BathymetryB_CSUMB_OffshoreAptos.zip" which are accessible from https://doi.org/10.5066/F7K35RQB. These data accompany the pamphlet and map sheets of Cochrane, G.R., Johnson, S.Y., Dartnell, P., Greene, H.G., Erdey, M.D, Dieter, B.E., Golden, N.E., Hartwell, S.R., Ritchie, A.C., Kvitek, r.G., Maier, K.L., Endris, C.A., Davenport, C.W., Watt, J.T., Sliter, R.W., Finlayson, D.P., and Krigsman, L.M., (G.R. The USGS, in cooperation with the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation, surveyed the bathymetry within an area of about 500 acres of American Falls Reservoir between River Miles 713 and 714 during the week of August 6-8, 2019. The bathymetric survey provided high resolution detail of a proposed treatment area for an aeration system that is being developed to support water quality during the American Falls spillway concrete repair project and possibly thereafter. The Water Quality Restoration Plan detailing this effort is an appendix of the of the Final Environmental Assessment (EA) in conjunction with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) compliance process.

The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) in cooperation with the Harris‐Galveston Subsidence District, City of Houston, Fort Bend Subsidence District, Lone Star Groundwater Conservation District, and Brazoria County Groundwater Conservation District produced this dataset of groundwater‐level altitudes and groundwater‐level altitude changes in the Chicot and Evangeline aquifers (undifferentiated), and Jasper aquifer in the greater Houston area, Texas. This dataset shows current‐year (2023) groundwater‐level altitudes for each aquifer as well as 1–year (2022–23), and 5‐year (2018–23) groundwater‐level changes for each aquifer, long‐term (1990–2023 and 1977–2023) groundwater‐level changes for the Chicot and Evangeline aquifers...

Images of subsurface electrical conductivity are useful for locating fluids and other electrically conductive phases at depth in the Earth. This data release presents electrical conductance maps estimated from a 3D model of the Great Basin, USA, at five different depth ranges, spanning 2 to 200 km depth. Electrical conductance is the integration of electrical conductivity in a depth range. Great Basin electrical conductivity is estimated through 3D inverse modeling of over 800 publicly available magnetotelluric (MT) transfer functions. The transfer functions can be found on the electromagnetic transfer function repository hosted by the Incorporated Research Institutions of Seismology (IRIS) data management center...
