This data release contains estimates of mean daily gross primary production (GPP) and ecosystem respiration (ER) in Bronson and Fanno Creeks, Oregon during August of 2016. These estimates were part of a larger study of the water-quality effects of beaver dams and beaver activity in selected urban streams of the Tualatin River Basin in northwestern Oregon. The mean daily GPP and ER values were estimated using two approaches (both of which are publicly available and documented): 1) a USGS model developed using the R programming language and 2) a Washington Department of Ecology model that runs in Excel. Inputs for the models included hourly measurements of dissolved-oxygen concentration, water temperature, photosynthetically...

This dataset includes georeferenced, high-resolution, airborne thermal infrared (TIR) and high-resolution true-color imagery, a polyline shapefile of the channel centerline, a polyline shapefile with TIR sample points for longitudinal stream temperature profiles, and a tabular file with longitudinal stream temperature profiles for the Donner und Blitzen River and its tributaries, Oregon. The aerial TIR surveys were conducted with a helicopter by NV5 Geospatial and are published as 17 raster mosaics in GeoTiff format with a resolution of 0.3 meters (m). The TIR mosaics contain corrected surface temperatures in degrees Celsius (C) (multiplied by 10 to create an unsigned integer pixel type). The longitudinal stream...

Model archive summary describing the development of an acoustic derived suspended sediment time series computation model. The model archive summary describes the methods and techniques used to develop the model for the Willamette River at Portland site – USGS site ID# 14211720. The time series suspended sediment data will help determine the suspended sediment concentration at the site in real-time enabling science entities, managers, and others, track the movement of sediment in the Lower Columbia River System.

This metadata record describes a series of datasets containing metrics used to characterize drought for four sets of United States Geological Survey (USGS) streamgages in the conterminous United States (CONUS) for three different time periods between 1921 and 2020 outlined below. The streamgages used are a subset based on the criteria used in Geospatial Attributes of Gages for Evaluating Streamflow, version II (GAGESII, Falcone, 2011). Time periods use climate years, April 1 through March 31. These metrics include streamflow percentiles, identified drought events, annual low streamflow drought statistics, and various attributes for each of those events. These data are arranged here by study group with the following...

This data release contains the model inputs, outputs, and source code (written in R) for the boosted regression tree (BRT) and artificial neural network (ANN) models developed for four sites in Upper Klamath Lake which were used to simulate daily maximum pH and daily minimum dissolved oxygen (DO) from May 18th to October 4th in 2005-12 and 2015-19 at four sites, and to evaluate variable effects and their importance. Simulations were not developed for 2013 and 2014 due to a large amount of missing meteorological data. The sites included: 1) Williamson River (WMR), which was located in the northern portion of the lake near the mouth of the Williamson River and had a depth between 0.7 and 2.9 meters; 2) Rattlesnake...

This data release contains total dissolved solids (TDS) concentrations and specific conductance (SC) measurements collected at surface-water monitoring locations and groundwater monitoring wells within the Upper Colorado River Basin (UCRB) between 1894 and 2022. Discrete TDS and SC results were obtained from the Water Quality Portal (WQP). Continuous SC monitoring results were obtained from the USGS National Water Information System (NWIS). The data set includes 127,294 TDS results that were collected at 12,339 sites between 1900 and 2022, and 705,918 SC results that were collected at 19,630 sites between 1894 and 2022. The SC results represented 244,784 discrete measurements at 19,625 sites and 461,134 mean daily...

This metadata record describes data that characterize low-flow period duration and seasonality, as well as trends and climate linkages at streamgages across the conterminous United States. These data are associated with a publication which looks to answer three questions about low-flow periods in the conterminous United States: (1) how long are these periods and when do they typically start and end, (2) how are these properties changing through time, and (3) how does climate influence these properties? These data include 1145 U.S. Geological Survey streamgages with historical periods from 1951-2020. This data release contains the following: 1) low_flow_characteristics.csv: Annual low-flow period characteristics...

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) and the Nature Conservancy developed the Sustainable Rivers Program (SRP) as a collaborative environmental flows program to identify, refine, and implement environmental strategies at select USACE dams. The SRP was introduced to the Willamette Basin, Oregon, in 2007 through a series of environmental flow workshops, which led to stakeholder generated environmental flow recommendations in the North Santiam, South Santiam, Santiam (Bach and others, 2013), McKenzie, South Fork McKenzie (Risley and others, 2010), and Middle Fork Willamette Rivers (Gregory and others, 2007, https://www.hec.usace.army.mil/sustainablerivers/). This data release is a compilation of the stakeholder-defined...
