This dataset consists of 122 magnetotelluric (MT) soundings collected in 2016 in the northern Harrat Rahat, located near the holy city of Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah in Saudi Arabia. These data were collected as part of a joint project between the U.S. Geological Survey and the Saudi Geological Survey examining the volcanic hazard associated with the harrat. Imaging the 3-D electrical resistivity structure of the crust and upper mantle beneath the harrat will help in understanding the magmatic system at depth.

The Great Plains Landscape Conservation Cooperative (GPLCC, https://www.fws.gov/science/catalog) is a partnership that provides applied science and decision support tools to assist natural resource managers conserve plants, fish and wildlife in the mid- and short-grass prairie of the southern Great Plains. It is part of a national network of public-private partnerships — known as Landscape Conservation Cooperatives (LCCs, http://www.fws.gov/science/shc/lcc.html) — that work collaboratively across jurisdictions and political boundaries to leverage resources and share science capacity. The Great Plains LCC identifies science priorities for the region and helps foster science that addresses these priorities to support...

This layer shows aspin defoliators (large aspen torix and forest tent caterpillars) damage in the Crown of the Continent and a 50km buffer. Delineates outbreaks of the two focal species referred to as aspen defoliators (large aspen torix and forest tent caterpillar). Covers the CCE and 50km into the surrounding area from 2000 to 2007. This layer is a compilation from multiple sources, Bruce spanworm polygons were removed from Alberta data, focal species were extracted from USDA data. This dataset was developed by the Crown Managers Partnership, as part of a transboundary collaborative management initiative for the Crown of the Continent Ecosystem, based on commonly identified management priorities that are relevant...

This shapefile contains total‐field marine magnetic data from eleven cruises of the USCGS ship Pioneer (OSS‐31) and one cruise from the USS Rehoboth (AGS‐50) in deep water off the west coast of the United States and southern British Columbia in 1955 and 1956. Magnetic anomalies are calculated with the latest definitive geomagnetic reference field (DGRF) included in the 12th Generation of the International Geomagnetic Reference Field model (Thébault and others, 2015). The marine magnetic data from these cruises were recovered from backup tapes that archived the work of Skaer and Hey in the late 1980s (Skaer, 1989). Fernandez and Hey (1991) merged these 1950s data with magnetic data from subsequent cruises. Raw data...

This layer represents the major road network of the U.S. Northern Rockies. It was created by merging Montana Department of Transportation "on-system" routes with Idaho Transportation Department "state highway system" routes, creating consistent attribute fields, then clipping to the U.S. Northern Rockies study area boundary.

This vector line dataset represents the lower Las Vegas Wash study area. Surface-water trace was digitized onscreen from Landsat8 and ESRI World Imagery. The trace is used in an accompanying surface-water study to evaluate discharge gains and losses at selected locations in the Lower Las Vegas Wash.

Lakes bathymetry is a line feature-based layer that includes bathymetric information for selected reservoirs, lakes, and ponds in Montana. The layer is based on information collected by multiple sources including contractors with Montana Department of Environmental Quality, the Bureau of Reclamation, and Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks. Data collection methods vary over time with techniques using a variety of different equipment including manual and electronic depth soundings, use of a GPS receiver, and digitizing previously published bathymetry maps. Data were compiled at a variety of scales and resolutions, depending on the collection method used for a particular waterbody. These data are planned to be regularly...

In May 2021, the Grand Canyon Monitoring and Research Center (GCMRC) of the U.S. Geological Survey’s (USGS), Southwest Biological Science Center (SBSC) acquired airborne multispectral high resolution data for the Colorado River in Grand Canyon in Arizona, USA. The imagery data consist of four bands (Band 1 – red, Band 2 – green, Band 3 – blue, and Band 4 – near infrared) with a ground resolution of 20 centimeters (cm). These image data are available to the public as 16-bit GeoTIFF files, which can be read and used by most geographic information system (GIS) and image-processing software. The spatial reference of the image data are in the State Plane (SP) map projection using the central Arizona zone (FIPS 0202)...

The U.S. Army Fort Irwin National Training Center (NTC), approximately 35 mi north-northeast of Barstow, California, covers approximately 1,177 square miles, and is comprised of ten groundwater basins, three of which have been subdivided into subbasins on the basis of additional hydrologic testing. Since the early 1990s, the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has been studying water resources issues at Fort Irwin. One issue of concern is the potential effect of groundwater development resulting from planned training expansion and infrastructure at the NTC on natural springs and seeps, an important water source for wildlife. In 2010, the USGS entered into cooperative agreements with the U.S. Army to complete studies of...

This dataset contains 20-ft contours for the 2013 Sparta-Memphis aquifer potentiometric-surface map in Arkansas. The potentiometric-surface shows altitudes at which the water levels would have risen in tightly-cased wells and represents conditions during the period from January through May 2013. Groundwater-level data from 306 wells cased completely in and with the screened interval open to the Sparta-Memphis aquifer are publicly available from the U.S. Geological Survey’s National Water Information System.
