Key Findings Tree swallows were sampled at 6 locations in the Maumee River watershed, as part of a collaborative four-agency study on ecosystem effects of contaminants of emerging concern (CECs) on biota. This study involved samples of sediment, benthic invertebrates, and an insectivorous bird, the tree swallow. Endpoints include assessment of changes in both the tree swallow metabolome and transcriptome to determine whether perturbations can be traced from ToxCaste, an in vitro water sample assessment through mussels/clams, fish, and birds. We investigate herein the hypothesis that there is a significant relationship between bed particle mobility and benthic invertebrate abundance in the gravel-bed channel of the upper Colorado River in Rocky Mountain National Park. A large diversion channel called the Grand Ditch normally diverts a significant portion (?50%) of the annual snowmelt runoff from the watershed northward out of the basin. In May 2003, a ?30-m section of the ditch was breached, contributing substantially to the magnitude and duration of discharge in the Colorado River until the ditch breach was repaired in July of that year. The U.S. Geological Survey, in cooperation with the City of South Padre Island, Texas, collected baseline seagrass, benthic invertebrate, and water-quality data for a near-shore area of the Laguna Madre near South Padre Island in July 2021. Sample and data collection points were located within a grid consisting of eight transects and three sampling points on each transect. The data included in this data release are presented in a comma-separated values (csv) file format.
