Delineated parturition areas indicate areas with seasonally high concentrations of birthing animals. Boundaries are based on systematic and opportunistic long-term observation data. Wyoming Open Spaces Initiative at the University of Wyoming digitized this hardcopy data to develop the original GIS layers in 2002. These have since been updated and continue to be maintained by the Wyoming Game and Fish Department.
