The U.S. Geological Survey collected topographic data in cooperation with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers to assist in the management of two recreation areas at Blue Mountain Lake and near Nimrod Lake in Arkansas. Data were collected March 3-4, 2020 using terrestrial light detection and ranging (T-lidar) surveying equipment, Global navigation Satellite System (GNSS) surveying equipment, and conventional surveying techniques. The surveyed locations had a parking area, boat ramp, and some small recreational structures. Each site was surveyed using a FARO 3D tripod-mounted T-lidar unit. Additionally, a topographic survey was conducted in order to georeference the lidar survey. These topographic data were collected...

This data release contains phytoplankton data and vertical profile measurements of water quality and light in oligotrophic (low nutrient) lakes within the Adirondack Park, New York State. Data were collected between June and October 2021 at five lakes. Four lake locations (Nearshore, Open Water, Layer, Bloom) were sampled representing one of four sample types (Bottom Sediment, Surface Water, Bloom Material, Layer). Water-quality field parameters (water temperature, dissolved-oxygen concentration and percent saturation, pH, specific conductance, turbidity, chlorophyll fluorescence, phycocyanin fluorescence, and fluorescent dissolved organic material) were measured at each sampling location from the surface to the...

A bathymetric survey of Blue Mountain Lake, Arkansas, was conducted in May 2017 by the Lower Mississippi-Gulf Water Science Center of the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) using methodologies for sonar surveys similar to those described by Wilson and Richards (2006). Point data from the bathymetric survey were merged with point data from an aerial LiDAR survey conducted in December 2010 for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Little Rock District. From the combined point data, a terrain dataset (a type of triangulated irregular network, or TIN, model) was created in Esri ArcGIS for the lakebed within the extent of pool elevation 420 feet above the North American Vertical Datum of 1988 (NAVD88). This Esri file geodatabase...

Topographic data were collected at Hise Hill Recreation Center on the Petit Jean River about 2 miles upstream from Blue Mountain Lake on March 3, 2020, using terrestrial light detection and ranging (T-lidar), Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS), and conventional surveying techniques. These data are high-resolution topography in laser scan format, collected using a tripod mounted T-lidar at multiple scan setups. Data collection software integrated and stored the range and angular measurements from the T-lidar equipment. Computer software was used to process the raw data, align the various scans in reference to one another, classify the data, and extract the topography data in a useable format. The data were...
