In 2006, the Century Commission for a Sustainable Florida called for an identification of those lands and waters in the state that are critical to the conservation of Florida’s natural resources. In response, the Florida Natural Areas Inventory, University of Florida Center for Landscape Conservation Planning, and Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission collaborated to produce CLIP - the Critical Lands and Waters Identification Project. CLIP is a GIS database of statewide conservation priorities for a broad range of natural resources, including biodiversity, landscape function, surface water, groundwater, and marine resources. CLIP is now being used to inform planning decisions by the Peninsular Florida...

These data were released prior to the October 1, 2016 effective date for the USGS’s policy dictating the review, approval, and release of scientific data as referenced in USGS Survey Manual Chapter 502.8 Fundamental Science Practices: Review and Approval of Scientific Data for Release. Digital surfaces and thicknesses of selected hydrogeologic units of the Floridan aquifer system were developed to define an updated hydrogeologic framework as part of the U.S. Geological Survey Groundwater Resources Program. This feature class contains a gridded surface depicting the top of the OCAPLPZ in feet relative to NGVD29.
These layers depict a potential Conservation Target for the PFLCC's Priority Resource: Freshwater Aquatics. The potential Conservation Target is Connectivity, with the metric being the Floodplain Connectivity. It was created by creating a 300-meter buffer around the Priority Resource and using it to mask, or extract, the Floodplain core layer from CLIP 4.0. It shows the priority of the surrounding floodplain, based on a FNAI model of floodplains created for the Florida Forever program. This map was created for the initial investigation of data sources and potential for usefulness for the potential Conservation Targets for evaluating the status of the Priority Resource.

This location is part of the Arizona Mineral Industry Location System (AzMILS), an inventory of mineral occurences, prospects and mine locations in Arizona. LaPaz288 is located in T3S R23W Sec 25 NE in the Hidden Valley - 7.5 Min quad. This collection consists of various reports, maps, records and related materials acquired by the Arizona Department of Mines and Mineral Resources regarding mining properties in Arizona. Information was obtained by various means, including the property owners, exploration companies, consultants, verbal interviews, field visits, newspapers and publications. Some sections may be redacted for copyright. Please see the access statement.

This dataset identifies the priority resources landcover classes which fall within CLIP priority levels 1 and 2. This dataset can then be used to identify areas of high conservation value (and can be subjected to various calculations), at least in terms of the priority resources identified by the PFLCC. Through the combination of these and other data, a more complete, yet generalized, picture of Florida’s natural resources, conservation priorities, and the threats to those resources and priorities, can be visualized.
