The Desert Renewable Energy Conservation Plan (DRECP), a major component of California's renewable energy planning efforts, will help provide effective protection and conservation of desert ecosystems while allowing for the appropriate development of renewable energy projects. The DRECP is focused on the desert regions and adjacent lands of seven California counties - Imperial, Inyo, Kern, Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino, and San Diego. Grasslands comprise a small part of the Chihuahuan Desert but are vital to the biological diversity of the ecoregion. Grasslands of the Sky Islands region once covered over 13 million acres in southeastern Arizona and adjacent portions of New Mexico, Sonora, and Chihuahua. Attempts to evaluate current ecological conditions suggest that approximately two thirds of these remain as intact or restorable grassland habitat. These grasslands provide watershed services such as flood control and aquifer recharge across the region, and continue to support dozens of species of concern. The IUCN Red List of Threatened Species contains assessments for just over 76,000 species, of which about two-thirds have spatial data. This spatial data provided below is for comprehensively assessed taxonomic groups. It is important to note that some species such as those listed as Data Deficient are not mapped and subspecies are mapped within the parental species. The data is available as ESRI shapefiles format and contains the known range of each species. Ranges are depicted as polygons, except for the freshwater HydroSHED tables. Growth and survival of Colorado squawfish, Ptychocheilus lucius, larvae under fluctuating 18, 22, and 26 degrees C (5 degrees C diel fluctuations) and constant 18, 22, 26 degrees C, and 30 degrees C temperature conditions and ration size corresponding to 12.5, 28, 64,142, 320 brine shrimp nauplii fish(-1) day(-1) was determined from laboratory experiments. Growth was optimal at 31 degrees C and high at temperatures of 26 degrees C to 30 degrees C, at the highest food abundance. Lowest growth was under lowest food rations and highest temperatures.
