From October 2017 to June 2018, the United States Geological Survey (USGS) collected 101 surficial sediment samples from abandoned mine wastepiles, ephemeral channels below wastepiles, nearby outcrops, and background areas representative of the undisturbed lithology in the Browns Park mining district of northeastern Utah. Additionally, twelve sediment samples were collected in drainages associated with legacy sample locations from the National Uranium Resource Evaluation (NURE) Hydrogeochemical and Stream Sediment Reconnaissance (HSSR) program (reformatted by Smith, 2006).
